I 5 migliori momenti della Milano Fashion Week FW26 Tra sfilate, presentazioni e afterparty
Once again, Milano Fashion Week has come to an end, this time for the FW26 season. A clear improvement compared to recent years, when Milan had started to feel like a marginal stop compared to Paris. And yet, despite it not even being September, this MFW was packed, with debuts, major collections, rumored farewells, and “bilateral parties.” For the first time in years, we can officially say that Milan is fun again, worthy of its role as a fashion capital. Here, then, are the best moments of this Milano Fashion Week FW26.
1. EsDeeKid and fakemink at Gucci’s afterparty

The after-party mania in Milan had flattened out over the past few seasons, yet the runway debut of Demna deserved to be celebrated properly. For the occasion, Gucci decided to reuse the show venue and call the entire fashion system together, with a completely unexpected performance by EsDeeKid and fakemink. The English rapper even became a protagonist of the show, taking on the role of the “maranzino” and slowing down the runway just to check his phone (carefully tucked inside the new double-G belt bag).
2. AVAVAV plays with fashion’s roles

If we had to choose an adjective to describe AVAVAV, “disruptive” would probably be the most fitting. For FW26, the Swedish brand chose not to stage a traditional runway show, but instead to present a presentation in which it was the audience that walked, while the models stared back intensely. It’s no coincidence that the collection is titled Female Gaze: a reverse roleplay, slightly unsettling and slightly enlightening, that finally made press and insiders understand what it truly means to be at the center of attention during a fashion show.
3. Vivetta Ponti’s new brand

After leaving her eponymous brand last summer, designer Vivetta Ponti debuted her new project, Venerdì Pomeriggio, on the very first day of MFW. What has changed? Practically nothing. Perhaps just a slightly greater attention to “wearability” and a rediscovered sense of playfulness, with a focus on the dreamlike world for this debut collection. But, in the end, it’s enough that Vivetta is back to designing.
4. Bottega Veneta’s watch party

Perhaps the most important show of this fashion week, in terms of sheer scale, was Bottega Veneta. A guest list worthy of a Hollywood red carpet, the brand’s headquarters as the venue, and the highly anticipated second collection by Louise Trotter. Beyond the looks on the runway, the brand decided for the first time to livestream the show outside Palazzo San Fedele as well, allowing everyone to feel part of the event, even without being in the front row. Despite being an important step toward the democratization of fashion, controversy followed, as if watch parties had never existed before.
4. Prada brought only 15 models to the runway
To critique the issue of overconsumption in fashion, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons decided that for the Prada FW26, instead of featuring 60 different models with as many distinct looks, there would be only 15 models (including Bella Hadid). Each of them “walked” four times, removing a different layer each time, ultimately revealing a new version of the original look. A gesture of resistance against the current state of the system, where attention increasingly focuses on styling rather than garments, and where everything must necessarily be a novelty.
