Why April Is Paris’ Most Creative Month Photography, fashion, craftsmanship, and bold creativity: April transforms Paris into an open-air cultural lab
Six Young Voices at the Intersection of Fashion and Photography
One of the month’s standout events is “CURATION – CAPSULE MODE”. Curated by Les Filles de la Photo with support from Maje, it spotlights six Art Paris 2026 laureates in a series of exclusive works on view from April 2–6 at Galerie CØR Studio, 28 Rue du Petit Musc.
Each artist brings a distinct visual language, exploring the body, clothing, and identity. Marianne Cavalier channels glossy magazine vibes where makeup almost becomes a character. Renate Ariadne puts clothing at the heart of the story, transforming garments into narrative extensions. Jinyong Lian explores skin, touch, and textures, creating images where the body feels tangible. Anne-Sophie Auclerc favors grainy black-and-white shots, raw and spontaneous. Lola Cacciarella bursts with sun-soaked, saturated colors, evoking summer escapes. Guillaume Benichou captures everyday life in its most candid, almost stolen moments.
The opening on April 2, 6–9 PM, promises a first glimpse into a week dedicated to emerging creativity. The Petit Musc space, designed with Berlin’s VAUST, offers a minimalist, architectural backdrop, perfectly echoing the visual rigor of the works.
Art Paris Returns: 28th Edition at the Grand Palais
This capsule sets the stage for Art Paris, taking over the Grand Palais from April 9–12. For its 28th edition, the fair balances prestige and accessibility. Expect 165 French and international galleries, including 27 focused on emerging talent. Art Paris continues to break elitist stereotypes, welcoming both seasoned collectors and curious newcomers. It’s a reflection of today’s creative scene, where art, photography, and fashion increasingly collide.
From Hands to Masterpieces
April also celebrates the hand behind the work. During Les Journées Européennes des Métiers d’Art, workshops and maisons open across France and Europe. Visitors can get up close to embroidery, weaving, plumasserie, leatherwork, and metalwork. These weekends -from the 7th to the 12th- are about more than watching, they inspire curiosity and spark future vocations by revealing the gestures behind the objects.
In Paris, 19M is a must. Created by Chanel, it brings together leading French artisans. Discover Eres, redefining swimwear and activewear, and Lesage, the ultimate embroidery house. These days remind us: every piece begins with a hand, a gesture, a technique. Between fairs, exhibitions, and open studios, April proves Paris is a creative capital. From the Grand Palais to the ateliers, from fashion photography to fine crafts, it’s a month where inspiration is everywhere—seen, felt, and made by hand.
