Pieter Mulier is the new creative director at Versace The new creative director will take up his post on July 1

After weeks of speculation, the confirmation has arrived: Peter Mulier is the new creative director of Versace. His first day in the office will be July 1st, leading us to imagine that we will see his debut collection as early as September. During his five years at Alaïa, Mulier managed to completely relaunch the brand, equipping it with a much-loved it-bag, the Teckel, and proposing his own highly appreciated vision while always respecting the philosophy of founder Azzedine Alaïa. Mulier will remain at the brand long enough to sign his final “farewell” collection, namely the SS26 collection, which will be presented next month in Paris.

In addition to the expressions of confidence communicated in the press statements by the Prada family (who, let us remember, now owns Versace), Mulier’s appointment promises a much grander relaunch than that of Dario Vitale, whose debut took place amid a billion-dollar acquisition that penalized its visibility. Vitale’s departure after the acquisition by the Prada Group was abrupt and unexpected, but now a new chapter opens for Versace, under new management. And the anticipation is sky-high.
