Welcome to the Chalamet Fashion Week

Every day a new Timothée Chalamet outfit on the streets of New York

Welcome to the Chalamet Fashion Week Every day a new Timothée Chalamet outfit on the streets of New York

From Paul Atreides' futuristic armor in Denis Villeneuve's Dune to Willy Wonka's brightly colored suits in the film about the origins of Roald Dahl's character, to Bob Dylan's much heavier ones in the biopic directed by James Mangold. When it comes to iconic outfits on the big screen, we can definitely count on Timothée Chalamet. Maybe that's also why in his off-duty moments, the actor never misses an opportunity to emphasize his role as the absolute champion of slouchy dressing, the constant balancing act between sloppy and chic so dear to many celebrities. If in the past Chalamet had been noted for his street styles as a perfect Roma fan, in the last few days the actor has been immortalized walking the streets of New York. Call it Chalamet Fashion Week, but every day the Call Me By Your Name actor seems to be the protagonist of an imaginary catwalk where the outfits are all strictly disengaged, put together with such nonchalance that they immediately become iconic.

A few days ago, for example, Timmy was roaming the streets of New York in a pair of Celine jeans, an Aaron Judge New York Yankees jersey, and Wales Bonner signature adidas Samba in Cream Green. All are complemented by a pair of lavender Airpods Max and Saint Laurent sunglasses. We go back twenty-four hours and find Timothée drinking coffee in a total black outfit, Supreme shorts and long sleeve, and Prada Nylon Cap, except for a pair of Pine Green Jordan 4s. And looking back, things only get better. The pinnacle, of course, was reached last week, when Chalamet challenged Adam Sandler to a basketball game on a New York court. Foot Locker envelope in hand, Timmy pulled out a pair of adidas Trae Young 2.0s he just bought from the store around the corner to pair with a grey t-shirt and a pair of Cargo Short Supremes. At this point, we can elect it as one of his favorite brands.

Two universes colliding, two generations of Slouchy King confronting each other in an encounter that touched the actor deeply. At least, his fan base thinks so. «I think his outfit was influenced by Adam Sandler,» wrote an @tchalamet.updates user commenting on one of the latest looks in which Chalamet sports a reinterpretation of the Canadian tuxedo with a Courrèges jacket and jeans paired with a pair of Dior shoes and hat. The nice touch, however, is a vintage Bob Dylan tee that reminds us that Timothée Chalamet is first and foremost an actor with a method, as well as one with a clear idea of his style. Public opinion has always been divided in two when it comes to commenting on a photo of a celebrity out of the dazzling lights of the jet set: reality or fiction? Fruit of an elaborate PR strategy or a simple moment of normality in the lives of superstars? If in the past we have been disillusioned by the real ability of celebrities to put together an outfit without the help of the stylist on duty, things are quite different with Timothée. The actor has always demonstrated his passion for fashion, showing up on red carpets with outfits far bolder than those of his colleagues. From his friendship with Haider Ackermann (artificer of his bare-back look seen at the last Venice Film Festival) to the numerous Celine, Raf Simons, and Prada look, Timmy can be trusted. As much in his public appearances as in his private ones on the pavements of New York.
