Investigations, missions, and a jump into the universe of Stranger Things, or almost. March is all about adventure, as shown by many of the titles being released this month, and here are the ones you should keep an eye on.

They Call Him Jeeg Robot - in theaters from March 2
The month of March begins with an important anniversary for Italian cinema. Starting March 2, They Call Him Jeeg Robot returns to theaters, the debut feature written and directed by Gabriele Mainetti, which brought a breath of genre filmmaking into our country’s film industry landscape. The story follows a criminal who suddenly finds himself with superpowers. A neighborhood vigilante who cannot betray his nature, yet must also remain true to the new gifts unexpectedly bestowed upon him.
DTF St. Louis - on HBO Max Italy from March 2
A bit of dramedy awaits us on HBO Max Italy. Arriving on March 2 is DTF St. Louis, starring David Harbour, Jason Bateman and Linda Cardellini. Seven episodes centered around the dating app that gives the show its title and leads the characters into a love triangle that ends in the worst possible way - with the death of one of them.
Young Sherlock - on Prime Video from March 4
The possible versions of Sherlock Holmes are endless - or, if not endless, certainly vast. This is proven by the series arriving on Prime Video, Young Sherlock, a story that follows the brilliant detective at the beginning of his career, played by Hero Fiennes Tiffin from the After saga. The cast also includes Joseph Fiennes (the lead actor’s real-life uncle), Colin Firth and Max Irons.
The Bride! - in theaters from March 5
It’s Jessie Buckley’s moment. Her performance in Hamnet, which earned her a Golden Globe and puts her firmly on the path toward an Oscar win, proves it - as does the arrival of another leading role in which she plays one of the most famous female characters in the horror universe. The Bride! is a response to the many cinematic versions of Frankenstein, based on the character from the 1935 film The Bride of Frankenstein. Starring alongside her is Christian Bale, while Maggie Gyllenhaal directs her second feature.
Vladimir - on Netflix from March 5
It is among the most anticipated series of the month. Vladimir is the adaptation of the novel of the same name by Julia May Jonas, a psychological drama balancing tension and desire, starring Rachel Weisz alongside rising star Leo Woodall, known from the Netflix series One Day and the sequel Bridget Jones - Mad About the Boy. The show is set within the corridors of a university campus, where the characters’ relationships drift into a world suspended between reality and fiction.
If Only I Could, I’d Kick You - in theaters from March 5
Rose Byrne delivers one of her finest performances in If Only I Could, I’d Kick You. The Australian actress won Best Leading Performance at the 2025 Berlin Film Festival and is now competing for the Oscar statuette at the 2026 Academy Awards. The film, written and directed by Mary Bronstein, tells the story of a mother on the verge of a nervous breakdown, caught between the need for calm and acute psychosis.
Nouvelle Vague - in theaters from March 5
How is one of the films that forever changed the course of cinema - not only French cinema, but world cinema - born? Nouvelle Vague is the making-of of Breathless by Jean-Luc Godard, directed by Richard Linklater, who brings together the most important figures of the French movement of the 1960s in this lively and passionate portrait dedicated to film lovers everywhere.
Jumpers: A Leap Among Animals - in theaters from March 5
The days when the release of a Disney film caused real excitement are long gone. Jumpers - A Leap Among Animals seems to arrive quietly, without much noise, directed by Daniel Chong and marking the animation studio’s thirtieth feature film. The protagonist of the story is the teenager Mabel, an animal lover who finds her own unique way to communicate with them.
Rooster - on HBO Max Italy from March 9
Steve Carell takes the lead in the new project by creators Bill Lawrence and Matt Tarses, giving life to Rooster, a series arriving on HBO Max Italy on March 9 centered on a book author trying to rebuild his relationship with his daughter.
Moulin Rouge! - in theaters from March 9
Among musicals, there is without a doubt Moulin Rouge!, the cinematic masterpiece by Baz Luhrmann that made us fall in love with the penniless writer played by Ewan McGregor and the crystal-clear voice of Satine, portrayed by Nicole Kidman. First released in 2001, the film returns to theaters for its twenty-fifth anniversary. So dust off your best can-can moves and rush to (re)watch it on the big screen. It’s not the only anniversary celebration: starting March 2, The Revenant also returns to theaters, and from March 16 Barry Lyndon as well.
Scarpetta - on Prime Video from March 11
There are two things that will never end: Nicole Kidman’s collection of wigs and her projects across film and television. From March 11, the Australian actress stars in the new eight-episode show Scarpetta, based on the novels by Patricia Cornwell, featuring the famous forensic pathologist Kay Scarpetta, who must unmask a killer, give a voice to the victims, and hope that a twenty-eight-year-old case does not ruin her life.
The Testament of Ann Lee - in theaters from March 12
Amanda Seyfried invites audiences to follow her in a wild dance devoted to the Lord in The Testament of Ann Lee, a biographical musical about the religious leader who led the Shakers movement in the mid-eighteenth century. A controversial figure portrayed in a film written and directed by Mona Fastvold, with a screenplay co-written with collaborator and husband Brady Corbet. The cast also includes Lewis Pullman, Christopher Abbott and Thomasin McKenzie.
It’s Never Over: Jeff Buckley - in theaters from March 16
As new generations appear to be rediscovering Jeff Buckley through social media, the documentary It’s Never Over - Jeff Buckley arrives in theaters on March 16. Directed by Amy Berg, the film focuses on the American singer-songwriter and is built from intimate testimonies and previously unseen material.
Imperfect Women: My Closest Friends - on AppleTV+ from March 18
An adaptation of the novel by Araminta Hall, Imperfect Women - My Closest Friends is a crime series about the lives of three women that are turned upside down after an unexpected crime. The serial thriller explores themes of guilt, betrayal, and the compromises we are willing to make. The show features a remarkable trio led by Elisabeth Moss, Kate Mara and Kerry Washington.
The Last Mission: Project Hail Mary - in theaters from March 19
The comedic duo Phil Lord and Christopher Miller return with their new film The Last Mission - Project Hail Mary, starring Ryan Gosling alongside European star Sandra Hüller. The story revolves around teacher Ryland, who wakes up light-years away aboard a spaceship. He must piece together what happened and discover the mysterious substance that is causing the Sun to collapse.
The Eyes of Others - in theaters from March 19
Sex, obsession, possession. These are the themes explored in The Eyes of Others, the new film by Andrea De Sica following I figli della notte and Non mi uccidere, inspired by the true story of the Casati Stampa murder of the 1970s, reinterpreted on screen by protagonists Jasmine Trinca and Filippo Timi.
Daredevil: Rebirth 2 - on Disney+ from March 25
After its return last year, moving from Netflix to Disney+, Daredevil: Rebirth is ready for its second season, once again marked by the rivalry between Fisk, now mayor who holds New York firmly in his grip, and the vigilante Daredevil.
Bait: Out of Place - on Prime Video from March 25
We are living in the era of online controversies. But how do the people at the center of them experience it firsthand? Bait - Out of Place tells the story of an actor searching for his big career breakthrough. What if the opportunity were to play James Bond? There’s only one problem: the man has Pakistani origins, and we all know how the internet reacts when its characters (especially traditionally Caucasian ones) are changed.
Scrubs - on Disney+ from March 25
If The Pitt left you heartbroken and you want to unwind with a lighter medical drama, starting March 25 Scrubs returns to Disney+ with a new season. Zach Braff, Donald Faison and Sarah Chalke reprise their iconic roles and are ready to dive back into a world of medicine (and more) completely different from the one they left behind.
Detective Hole - on Netflix from March 26
For fans of crime stories and Jo Nesbø’s books, the series Detective Hole arrives on Netflix on March 26, a nine-episode investigation based on the novel saga centered on Inspector Harry Hole, played on the platform by Tobias Santelmann. The show will focus mainly on the fifth installment, The Devil’s Star, and follows the protagonist as he attempts to capture a dangerous serial killer while confronting the shadows of the justice system.
They Will Kill You - in theaters from March 26
While Italy will have to wait until April for the sequel to Ready or Not, theaters will welcome They Will Kill You on March 26, starring Zazie Beetz and directed by Kirill Sokolov. The film is a horror with comedic tones, a divertissement blending action and gore, centered on a woman hired in a New York skyscraper that hides unsettling secrets. The cast also includes Tom Felton of Harry Potter, Myha'la from Industry, and Patricia Arquette.
Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen - on Netflix from March 26
Already missing Stranger Things? Don’t worry - starting March 26, Netflix releases the first new project from the Duffer brothers. Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen is the series created by Haley Z. Boston, with the brothers serving as producers, and starring Camila Morrone from Daisy Jones & the Six and Adam DiMarco from Overcompensating. The horror-tinged show focuses on the upcoming wedding of Rachel and Nicky, but something strange begins to stir around the isolated family house where they will stay before the big event.
