New allegations for Donda Academy Apparently Ye wanted a prison in the school

The life of Ye is as close to a movie plot as it gets: accusations, canceled concerts, and much more make him one of the most discussed and controversial figures of the twenty-first century. Over the past few months, rumors regarding the complicated situation inside Donda Academy seemed to have subsided, but today the Chicago rapper will have to face new allegations raised by Trevor Philips, a former employee of Yeezy and Donda Academy. The institute, which is supposed to prepare students to "become the next generation of leaders" through "an ethic of integrity and care," has been described by Philips as a hostile work environment where, among other things, there are retaliations against whistleblowers. Moreover, Philips did not hesitate to describe the treatment of the Academy's children. The former employee stated: "Ye wanted the kids to shave their heads and intended to install a prison at the school to punish them." Phillips continued his outburst by revealing that Ye used to praise Hitler, citing one of his most scandalous statements: "Hitler was great. Hitler was an innovator! He invented so many things. That's why we have cars. I'm against homosexuals! First the Jews, then the homosexuals. Homosexual people are not Christians, they are controlled by Bill Gates so they don't have children for population control."

It has been less than a year since Cecilia Hailey and Chekarey Byers, two teachers at Donda Academy, sued Ye and three of the school's executives for wrongful termination and racial discrimination. According to a report by Page Six in April 2023, Hailey and Byers listed a series of oddities, claiming that students were served only one meal a day - sushi eaten on the floor without utensils or chopsticks - and were not allowed to bring outside food or drinks, except for water. Among the many prohibited items were not only crossword puzzles, coloring sheets, jewelry, artwork on the walls, but also chairs and Nike or adidas products, and even some history books, including The Lost Boys of Sudan by Mark Bixler, which focuses on four victims of the brutal Sudanese conflict. According to their account, everyone had to dress in black, and no one was allowed outdoors during the school day - to the extent that the doors were locked from the outside, with all the attendant risks. Additionally, there was no school nurse, and medications, including some expired ones, were kept in a closet. Hailey also described the students as undisciplined, speaking of bullying as a widespread phenomenon.

Returning to Trevor Philips, it is speculated that he is very sensitive to the issue as his children were attending Donda Academy, experiencing a rather unhealthy atmosphere every day. Phillips has requested damages in excess of $35,000, according to the lawsuit. "With this lawsuit, we hope that our client's rights will be vindicated and that Mr. West understands that his messages - which we accuse of preaching discrimination, anti-Semitism, and Hitler worship - have no place in the world," said Phillips' lawyer, Carney R. Shegerian, in a statement to the Los Angeles Times. To provide an even more faithful and vivid idea of what was happening inside the Academy, Philips also reported Ye's behaviors towards employees. In statements made to the California newspaper, he claimed that Ye showed nude photos of his sexual partners to employees and ordered Phillips to perform dangerous tasks to renovate Donda Academy despite having no experience in the field. He also stated that West hired and fired him continuously, and would often shout at Phillips in front of dozens of staff members and schoolchildren.
