Jonathan Anderson is the new creative director of Dior Men
Although the industry has been saying it for some time, the new announcement shakes up the system

After months of speculation about who would be the future successor to Kim Jones as the artistic director of Dior Men, at the annual LVMH shareholders' meeting in Paris, CEO Bernard Arnault confirmed the appointment of Jonathan Anderson. The Northern Irish designer, founder of JW Anderson and coming off eleven years at the helm of Loewe, will design the men's line for the maison. For Loewe, the former Proenza Schouler designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez have been appointed. Arnault did not want to release any news regarding the artistic direction of Dior's womenswear, which, according to other rumors, may soon see the departure of Maria Grazia Chiuri. The first collection designed by Anderson for Dior Men will be presented in June, at Paris Fashion Week.

In a time of change for the leadership of brands across all luxury conglomerates, Kim Jones announced his departure from Dior Men last January, after seven years, while Anderson's exit from Loewe's ateliers took place last month. For months, the Northern Irish designer had been discussed as a potential candidate for Dior, both for menswear and womenswear. At the moment, there are no further details regarding Maria Grazia Chiuri’s position in the company, although within the fashion industry, there are rumors that the designer has already left the brand's artistic direction. As always, we will have to wait for further confirmation from LVMH leadership to better understand the situation.
