Diet Prada published a bizarre post about Striscia La Notizia. Is everything alright, Diet?

The glitch in the Matrix is starting to become more and more apparent. Today, Diet Prada published a post with the dubious English title "Striscia la Notizia no racism" that with the swiftness and rigidity of a sponsored press release explains that the program «has ALWAYS shown its support to the Italian Chinese community, dedicating lots of services against anti-Asian racism, receiving for this a public certificate of esteem from the Chinese community of Milan on February 4, 2020. Diet Prada and Striscia la Notizia abhor racism in all forms and hope that this episode will contribute to a better understanding for all the involved parts». The statement obviously has to do with the incident last April that saw a gag by Michelle Hunziker and Gerry Scotti "denounced" on the Diet Prada page with related shitstorm on the social media of the program whose creator, Antonio Ricci, had already told Il Fatto Quotidiano last September:

«On last year's case, we filed a complaint against Diet Prada for the mess they made on us about the Chinese eyes gag. Their behavior was instrumental because the attack was not aimed at Striscia but was directed at the fashion house Trussardi: it was an attack on Michelle who was involved as Trussardi's wife. Those who do not align themselves with Diet Prada are attacked. Which is very bad. [...] Our line of response cannot be that of excusing ourselves to death».

Evidently, today, the effects of the complaint have been felt because Diet Prada's post has all the air of a hastily written letter of reparation - by the way, the comments under the post are disabled, as if to say that the issue is no longer open for debate. Something similar must have happened on the Dolce & Gabbana issue since Diet Prada stopped talking about it after the designers sued the page for defamation - even going so far as to not talk at all about Kourtney Kardashian's wedding in Portofino this weekend. The very title of the post, so essential as to leave no room for the ambiguities of English syntax, seems to want to end the querelle once and for all. The feeling of awkwardness was also increased by the fact that the post in question was not even reposted in Diet Prada's stories, as is traditionally the case. A year later, in short, and just like the comments section of the post, the match between Antonio Ricci and Diet Prada would seem to be closed. Who knows if the American page will now receive its Tapiro d'Oro.
