Armani has a new board Here's who will be at the helm of the Italian company
UPDATE 29.11.25: The Group has just announced the formation of a new governance structure. The new board will be composed of eight members selected by the Armani Foundation and the designer’s heirs. Leo Dell'Orco remains Chairman, supported by Armani’s niece Silvana and his nephew Andrea Camerana, by the CEO and general manager Giuseppe Marsocci, by Marco Bizzarri, former Armani executive John Hooks, Federico Marchetti and Angelo Moratti, although the latter four do not hold operational roles within the company.
The Giorgio Armani SpA is preparing to face one of the most delicate phases in its history: the reconstruction of the company’s leadership after the passing of its founder, which occurred last September. According to reports from Bloomberg, the group is ready to appoint a new board of directors within the next few days, with a possible announcement expected on Friday. The aim of the family and long-standing executives, they stated, is to ensure continuity for the revolutionary brand founded by Armani fifty years ago, in 1975.
What is being said about Armani’s future
Spokespeople have declined to comment on corporate plans for now, but it is clear that over the past two months Armani’s top management has had a great deal to handle. Their task now is not only to redefine the Maison’s governing bodies, but also to do so with the goal of ensuring stability and strategic coherence for the company during a period of great fragility for the entire luxury industry. We will have to wait to see whether the new board will include names unfamiliar to Armani or professionals who already know the brand very well.
Who are Armani’s key figures
Armani’s new governance structure is taking shape under the leadership of Leo Dell’Orco, the designer’s long-time partner and now president of the group. Alongside him are key executives such as Giuseppe Marsocci, CEO at the company for more than twenty years, and Silvana Armani, vice president and head of womenswear as well as niece of the founding designer. Other family members are part of the board, including his sister Rosanna Armani, his nephew Andrea Nicola Camerana, and his niece Roberta Armani. Among the external names, one stands out in particular: Federico Marchetti, founder of Yoox, who has supported the brand’s digital presence for years.
EssilorLuxottica and Armani’s minority stake
Meanwhile, updates are also expected regarding another chapter of the succession: the assignment of the 15% stake in the company, as outlined in the founder’s will. Armani had identified three preferred potential buyers: L’Oréal, EssilorLuxottica, and LVMH, all strategic partners or potential top-tier allies. According to recent reports, a first turning point may have already arrived: the designated heir to take over the minority stake would be EssilorLuxottica, the brand’s long-standing partner for the eyewear segment. Sources from the financial newspaper IlSole24Ore report that the group has informed the heirs of its willingness to enter the share capital of Giorgio Armani SpA with a minority stake.
