Sarah Burton reinvents Givenchy's Shark Boot The Maison's iconic boot has been reimagined with a double shaft and metal closure

The Shark boot, one of Givenchy's most recognizable styles, returns to the spotlight thanks to Sarah Burton's reinterpretation. Renamed the Shark Pinch, it was presented on the runway at FW26 in six variations ranging from a tailored to an evening aesthetic. The main difference from the original lies in the silhouette: the boot's distinctive shaft now rises to the thigh, transforming the Shark into a more elongated and sculptural style, rendered fluid and balanced by a double-shaft construction that wraps around the leg.

The boot's design plays on a delicate layered effect, conceived to elongate the figure while accommodating its movement, bringing together structure and softness within the same style. Finishing each variation is the Pinch metal closure, which has accompanied Burton's work at Givenchy since her very first season as the Maison's creative director. The same hardware appears on the house's bags and draws on the tailoring techniques close to the British designer's heart.

Burton does not overturn the original style, but reinterprets it through her own creative language of precision, physicality and attention to construction. In the Shark Pinch, the boldness that made the Givenchy boot iconic remains intact while taking a new direction, where the rigor of the cut coexists with a knowing sensuality.
