Ferzan Özpetek to direct a TV series on Giorgio Armani Produced by Lux Vide, it will be distributed worldwide and made in direct collaboration with the Maison
Following the designer's passing in September 2025, Variety reports today that production company Lux Vide will be creating a television series centered on his life story. Set for international distribution and developed in close collaboration with the Maison, the production is entrusting the direction to Ferzan Özpetek, the Turkish filmmaker known for His Secret Life (2001), Facing Windows (2003) and Loose Cannons (2010).
Speaking to Variety, Özpetek said he had known Giorgio Armani for many years. «We talked about cinema, of which he was a great enthusiast and an expert. But also about art, costume, architecture and, I would say, life itself. I could see within him a visionary and a brilliant artist. But also a down-to-earth and very determined man». He added: «The opportunity to tell his story is both an exciting honor and a challenge that involves capturing the many facets of such a complex, original and captivating personality».
