Yesterday, the Franco-American actor celebrated his passion for Italian cinema

Although he wasn’t present at the 2025 Met Gala held in New York last Monday, preferring not to miss a single moment of the NBA playoffs game between the New York Knicks and the Boston Celtics, Timothée Chalamet made up for his absence by shining in Rome last night, at the 70th edition of the David di Donatello ceremony, the Italian equivalent of the Césars. A few months after traveling through the streets of the Italian capital on a bus to meet his fans during the promotion of the film A Complete Unknown in which he plays Bob Dylan, Chalamet made a dramatic return to Rome yesterday. Indeed, the Franco-American actor received the special David di Donatello award last night for his contribution to the world of cinema, accompanied for the first time on the red carpet by his sweetheart Kylie Jenner.
Once the award was presented by the evening's two hosts Mika and Elena Sofia Ricci, Chalamet expressed his gratitude through a touching speech, paying tribute to Italy and in particular to Italian director Luca Guadagnino: “It is an incredible honor for me to receive this award, in a country so rich in history like Italy, before which I feel very humble.” He then continued by mentioning some of the legends of Italian cinema who have inspired him throughout his career, notably “Fellini and De Sica with his Bicycle Thieves.” He went on to thank his colleague and friend Luca Guadagnino, the director “with whom I started working young, at just 20 years old, in Call Me by Your Name.”

This evening marks not only a major milestone in the young actor’s professional life, but also in his romantic life, as it was the very first time he appeared on a red carpet accompanied. After 3 years of relationship and many unofficial public appearances, Timothée Chalamet posed yesterday in front of the photographers’ flashes with a stunning yet shy Kylie Jenner on his arm. Her black mermaid Schiaparelli dress from the FW25 collection of the French house perfectly matched Chalamet’s black velvet Tom Ford by Haider Ackermann suit, which he paired with a pleated black crêpe de chine shirt decorated with a white gardenia flower pinned to his jacket’s lapel. Perhaps this award marks the first of a long series for the Franco-American actor who continues to move us from film to film. And perhaps it’s also the first of a long series of red carpets for this power couple, already considered end-game.
