Pucci travels to Portofino for SS25
'Marble' takes inspiration from the reflection of sunlight on sea waves
April 5th, 2025
After Capri, Florence, a stop in St. Moritz and then Rome, the journey of Pucci under the creative direction of Camille Miceli continues in Portofino, in a heady dive into the brand’s vibrant colors. The village overlooking the Ligurian Sea hosted the brand's SS25 show, named Marmo, inspired by the reflection of sunlight on sea waves. Inside a villa, the house's fluid shapes, bright tones, and captivating graphics told the many faces of water. It was a joyful moment in which summer felt closer thanks to fringes, voluminous and light tops, fitted skirts, and unique textures. The draping, always a hallmark of the maison's style, drew inspiration from both Roman statues and the 1920s, in the beloved sorbet shades of the season. The silhouettes of each look, light and sensual, allow the body to move and dance freely—a must for summer evenings. Two new prints made their debut at Pucci’s SS25. Stella, as the name suggests, looks to the moon and stars, while Maddalena covers the fabric in refined waves. The palette welcomes various nude shades, black—transformed into an animal print—and different greens that nod to the world of precious gems.
The reflections of the sun on the summer sea waves were not the only inspirations for this collection. To add further artistic details, printed sequins enriched the colorful dresses, while a black and white seashell adorned other looks. Even sea urchins made an appearance at the show, hidden in the buttons of jackets. Sandals, skirts, and evening dresses featured metallic eyelets sewn with the Marmo motif: a collection infused with the colors and forms of the marine world from head to toe. Positivity was embraced in the creation of every piece in the collection, including shoes: rain boots and embroidered sandals were inspired by the warm summer light, temporary tattoos tapped into the carefree spirit of the season, while the belt chains echoed yacht rope details. Staying with accessories, bags were reimagined to meet the practical needs of those who, in summer, want to feel free, with the creation of foldable and expandable clutches. A new bag debuted—crescent-shaped in beige denim—alongside the returning Yummy and Riccio bags, back on the runway in nylon. In short, once again, Pucci chose to abandon all inhibitions and let imagination lead the way in reinterpreting the brand's story.
