5 Things to Expect from Copenhagen Fashion Week SS27 The Danish capital once again welcomes the rising stars of European fashion
The biggest Copenhagen Fashion Week ever is about to get underway. Marking its twentieth anniversary, the event will host no fewer than 36 shows and presentations set to demonstrate the Danish capital's central role in contemporary fashion. From Monday, August 3, major names in Nordic design will return to the runway, including Mfpen, By Malene Birger, Stine Goya and Marimekko, while the schedule also features exciting debuts and international guests, invited to participate through dedicated programmes such as CPHFW NewTalent, One To Watch and International Guest Slot.

The Collina Strada guest show
Collina Strada will take the International Guest Slot at Copenhagen Fashion Week, an event supported by The Climate Pledge, an initiative founded by Amazon and Global Optimism in 2019 to accelerate decarbonisation. Collina Strada, a New York-based brand founded by current creative director Hillary Taymour, has been committed to bringing sustainable and inclusive collections to the runway since its inception — a commitment reflected in the aesthetic of every project: organic and naturalistic, yet always marked by a strong alternative edge.
Paolina Russo
In a sea of brands obsessed with elegance and purity, Paolina Russo shows everyone how to have fun with taste. Founded by Paolina Russo, who is Canadian, and Lucile Guilmard, who is French, the London-based brand draws on childlike imagination and futurism to create collections and capsules brimming with fantasy, exploring themes ranging from video games to football, from DIY to folk-inspired knitwear. All of it conceived with sustainability and textile innovation in mind. According to previews shared by the brand in recent days, for SS27 Paolina Russo will tell the story of a protagonist who, on holiday at her grandparents', spends her days sewing quilts and her nights with friends at a skatepark.
Anne Sofie Madsen
After working with John Galliano at Christian Dior and with Alexander McQueen, Anne Sofie Madsen launched her own brand in 2011, a project she carried forward until 2017. Following a hiatus, Madsen decided to return to the runway for FW25, but rather than showing in London or Paris, she chose to come home to Copenhagen. Her name has since become one of the most celebrated on the local Fashion Week circuit: a label that blends the designer's refined taste with a certain sense of contemporary irreverence, perfectly suited to the exuberance that has always defined Copenhagen fashion.
Nicklas Skovgaard
Nicklas Skovgaard is one of the talents to watch this Fashion Week. Institution is the winner of the Zalando Visionary Award 2026, which grants the brand a spot on the Copenhagen Fashion Week official schedule. Founded by Georgian creative director Galib Gassanoff, the label has already attracted the attention of audiences and industry insiders worldwide, having secured a place in the final of the prestigious LVMH Prize this very year. With genderless collections and an extremely hands-on approach to design, we have no doubt that Institution will once again leave us speechless.
