For the 2027 Architecture Biennale, scheduled from May 8 to November 21, the artistic direction of the Italian Pavilion will be entrusted to Studio (AB)NORMAL and APRIL. The project they will bring to the event is called TEMPORANEA and was selected by Minister of Culture Alessandro Giuli through a public call that involved ten proposals, later narrowed down to a shortlist of three finalists including Stefano Boeri with Italian Resonances and Paolo Zermani with Il nuovo nell'antico - Italia laboratorio d'Europa.

TEMPORANEA at the 2027 Architecture Biennale

At the 20th International Architecture Exhibition, the project TEMPORANEA by Studio (AB)NORMAL and APRIL proposes a vision of architecture as a fluid device, capable of establishing new relationships and creative communities. Like a work that is never truly finished, TEMPORANEA puts the spotlight on the temporariness of the creative process, bringing architecture into dialogue with contemporary art, design, fashion, cinema and the performing arts.

The details of the installation will be revealed in March 2027, but the representatives of Studio (AB)NORMAL (Mattia Inselvini, Davide Masserini and Luigi Savio) and of APRIL (Alessandro Farinella, Monica Moschini and Francesco Maria Tiribelli) have announced that the project's multidisciplinary nature will be tasked with celebrating the complexity of Made in Italy and all the diverse creative practices that characterise the country.
