The New Moncler and Fragment by Hiroshi Fujiwara Collaboration Is Here Alpine minimalism and Japanese roots come together for an exclusive capsule collection
Moncler and Fragment by Hiroshi Fujiwara have just announced a new collaborative collection that draws on the world of Japanese hiking for a series of minimalist pieces perfectly suited to conquering any mountain, under the banner of the slogan Rise Above the Chaos. For the occasion, Hiroshi Fujiwara himself is also the face of the campaign. He is seen wearing the reversible varsity jacket — a personal icon and the starting point of the collection — against a clean white background intended to reflect the collection's minimalism. In some images, the designer is also pictured alongside a dog, a nod to the "puppy" motif that runs through the T-shirts and graphic details.
The collection's central silhouette draws on the traditional Japanese souvenir jacket, already a staple of Fujiwara's personal style, fusing it with the American varsity aesthetic. Moncler reimagines it in a reversible version, featuring an elaborate embroidery that traces an imaginary map from Japan to Italy.
Another recurring motif is a dégradé check in dark green and black, crafted in brushed cotton flannel. Alongside it appear Moncler FRGMT graffiti logos and embroideries referencing Moncler's new Casa Moncler headquarters in Milan. Designed for cool autumn climates, the collection is rich in windbreakers, shirt-jackets, jerseys, and zip-up sweatshirts, as well as T-shirts and trousers. For the first time, the collaboration also introduces a mini FRGMT capsule featuring children's versions of select key pieces: the checked coach jacket, the sweatshirt, the tracksuit trousers, and the puppy-print T-shirt.
Beyond clothing, the collaboration extends to footwear with a three-way project: Moncler, Clarks Originals, and Fragment. The starting point is the legendary Wallabee, already reimagined by Moncler and Clarks Originals in a technical key with a Vibram Trailgrip sole and waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX lining.
