Moncler continues to explore Its archive with a new chapter of Re/Icons This time, the re-editions are accompanied by the collectible book "Alpine Diary"
Re/Icons returns to the Moncler archives and brings back four models that have made history in the world of down jackets: Karakorum, Verone, Himalaya and Tibb, born in the mountains and, over time, woven into the fashion imagination — now reinterpreted for a new generation. Drawing from the world of alpinism, expeditions and the spirit of exploration that has always been part of the brand's DNA, these historic silhouettes have been updated with lighter materials, new proportions and a palette that alternates black and navy with softer tones such as lilac, pastel pink and caramel. The pieces are defined by a sophisticated camaïeu effect, achieved by layering different shades of the same colour.
The Karakorum, created in 1954 for the Italian expedition that led Achille Compagnoni and Lino Lacedelli to the first ascent of K2, is reimagined as a lightweight micro ripstop parka, retaining functional details such as the removable hood and internal shoulder straps. The Verone, meanwhile, carries all the attitude of Milan's Paninari of the 1980s: a relaxed, urban silhouette that transforms the spirit of the mountains into a metropolitan uniform. Then there is the Himalaya, born in 2009 and destined to become one of the brand's most recognisable styles, here offered in a soft cotton-nylon blend. And finally the Tibb, the oversized '80s gilet, reinterpreted in a reversible version and defined by its iconic boudin quilting and metal logo.
For the first time, Re/Icons goes beyond reinventing Moncler's most iconic outerwear pieces. The collection expands into complete full looks featuring windbreakers, T-shirts, trousers and skirts, complemented by accessories such as beanies, balaclavas, scarves and sunglasses inspired by the eyewear once used in climbing. Moncler's journey through this new chapter of Re/Icons continues with Alpine Diary, a book that blends archival photographs, handwritten pages and contemporary images of the collection, building an imaginary diary of a 1950s explorer. A way of telling the past without turning it into nostalgia, with the touch of imagination and passion for exploration that are so distinctly Moncler.
