5 things to do in Milan this weekend From April 11 to 13

Milan is buzzing. Bars, venues, exhibition spaces, and all the city’s main streets have been taken over by Fuorisalone for Design Week. After playfully highlighting Italian stereotypes around the city in the Digital Cover No. 22, this Friday nss magazine returns with a column dedicated to the most interesting weekend events in Milan—this time, fully focused on the energetic, surprising, and incomparable Milan Design Week. Let’s be honest—even those who can’t stand it are drawn to it.

So, here are 5 things to do in Milan this weekend, from April 11 to 13.

To Eat - 28 Posti

Finding a place to dine in Milan during Design Week is nearly impossible—let alone a quiet spot. But if you manage to book a table at 28 Posti, you’re all set. Just a short walk from the Navigli, this restaurant offers unique menus centered around ethical cuisine and seasonality, in collaboration with small producers. On top of that, each dish is a small work of design—perfectly in tune with Design Week. We strongly recommend giving the chefs free rein—they’ll definitely surprise you.

To Discover - Galleria Fumagalli

From March 5 to May 30, the Galleria Fumagalli is hosting the exhibition Being Woman - The body as a tool of creation and an act of rebellion. Inspired by the words of Oriana Fallaci, the project features works by some of the greatest contemporary female artists, including Marina Abramović, Sang A Han, Annette Messager, Shirin Neshat, and Gina Pane. Curated by Maria Vittoria Baravelli and Annamaria Maggi, the exhibition explores how the female body can become a battleground, a source of life, a political instrument, and a space of imagination—in a continuous struggle against convention.

At Palazzo del Senato, Lavazza and Brazilian architect and designer Juliana Lima Vasconcellos have created a multisensory experience dedicated to coffee. The installation, located in the heart of the Porta Venezia Design District, invites visitors to take a break, offering an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. Time seems to stand still here, thanks to light play, tactile surfaces, and shades inspired by the warm color palette of coffee—used to tell the story of the coffee universe. Source of Pleasure is a happy island that brings a sense of calm and ease to anyone in need of recharging after a week of discovery.

To Shop - Tortona Rocks

Tortona Rocks is a huge exhibition space that, in the Tortona district, hosts some of the most interesting shows and installations of Fuorisalone every year. This year, nss edicola will also be there with its mobile newsstand, offering a preview of the new merchandise created especially for Design Week, Made of Italia.

To Club - nss edicola

Milan Design Week wouldn’t be complete without events by nss edicola, a must for all the cool kids looking for a place to hang out, listen to good music, and check out the project’s new merch. On Friday in Piazza Bruno Buozzi, City Stories with Paolo Zerbini takes place from 6 to 9 PM, while on Sunday—same place, same time—the Fuorisalone closing party will kick off with Gaudi2000, curated by Afro Fashion.
