Here's how the screening of "Il Capitone" at Cinema in Piazza went The film screening was accompanied by a talk dedicated to the story of Naples, moderated by Sabato De Sarno in collaboration with nss edicola

On July 9, Parco della Cervelletta hosted one of the events organized by Il Cinema in Piazza in collaboration with nss edicola, featuring a screening of Il Capitone by Camilla Salvatore, followed by a conversation with the director moderated by Martina Barone. At the heart of the discussion was the way the film portrays Naples — far from stereotypes and through an intimate lens shaped by memory, belonging, and contradictions. This approach naturally intertwined with the themes of Napoli Infinita, the volume created by nss edicola together with Sabato De Sarno, dedicated to a city portrayed as a place in constant transformation, where personal stories, collective imagination, and identity coexist without ever settling into a single definition. Building on the film, the talk broadened its scope to explore the value of storytelling as a tool for constructing new narratives about Naples and its cultural heritage, reflecting on the role of cinema in conveying the complexity of a place so often reduced to recurring images.

Il Cinema in Piazza's programme continues over the coming days with the very last events of its twelfth edition.
