Where to eat: With Kolam and Siseng
Kolam has temporarily lowered the curtain, not out of weariness, but to better prepare what comes next. While waiting for the reopening of its micro-canteen in the 10th arrondissement, Lahiru Weladawe is setting up for the weekend at Siseng, an institution on Quai de Jemmapes and a pioneer of the bao burger in Paris. It’s an opportunity to bring together two cuisines with very distinct roots — Sri Lankan for Kolam, Laotian for Siseng — yet driven by the same desire for meticulously crafted street food, both flavorful and generous. At the helm, the teams from Kolam and Siseng offer an exclusive four-hands menu made up of revisited signature dishes and crossover creations. A culinary interlude to be discovered on Saturday and Sunday while waiting for Kolam’s full return.

To discover: The Paris Surf & Skateboard Film Festival at the Gaîté Lyrique
It’s already been ten years since the PSSFF took the gamble of bringing together on the big screen surf, skate and independent cinema culture. For this anniversary edition, the festival is condensed into a single day but keeps the essentials. After a postponement due to the temporary closure of the Gaîté Lyrique, it returns to the Auditorium with a highly curated selection. Expect to encounter the industrial consequences of neoprene in The Big Sea, the teenage escapades of Skategoat, and the personal story of Westerly, the first transgender woman on the international surf scene. This edition also marks the launch of a partnership with the platform sitnwatch.tv, which will offer online a selection of films from the past ten years. Surrounding the screenings, a surf swap, exhibitions and meet-ups will punctuate this day conceived as a DIY, political and joyously rule-breaking manifesto.

Where to have fun: Spend the day with Midnight Motel and New Balance
To celebrate the release of the New Balance Abzorb 2000, Midnight Motel is rolling out a three-part itinerary this Saturday in the heart of the 3rd arrondissement. Three spots, three atmospheres, one shared energy. It starts with Midnight Abzorb, the day’s headquarters at 7 rue Notre-Dame de Nazareth, where you’ll find chess sessions hosted by Paris Gambit, a magazine curation by Heavy Gear, a custom T-shirt workshop with Service Global, DJ sets (Dalel, Kandelissa, Malek, Ima), and a live performance by La Bourse to wrap things up in rhythm. Just next door, Midnight Club will welcome early arrivals with a food & drinks offering. It’s also the latest addition to the Midnight family, conceived as a takeaway-format coffee shop where you can grab homemade sandwiches and comforting beverages daily. Finally, Midnight Sports, just a few doors down, brings together everything needed for an express glow-up: haircuts, braids, manicures and on-the-spot rhinestones. A Saturday under the sign of the Midnight community.

Trained in sculpture and set design, she imagines bags the way others compose landscapes — through volumes and textures. For the occasion, she unveils a new collection blending silk, wool and skin-like details, along with a selection of archived pieces. The whole is staged within What’s Inside Matters, an immersive installation made up of three miniature rooms crafted from the collection’s fabrics.
