Where to eat: At Café Shin Palais Royal

A year after its first location in the 10th arrondissement, Café Shin takes its identity further by setting up opposite the Palais-Royal. Still led by the duo Shin Eun Jung and Julien Sebbag, this new spot extends the original spirit while exploring new uses. Upstairs, a minimalist coffee shop welcomes the first coffees of the day. Downstairs, a modular room sets the tone: workspace, game area, or listening room in the late afternoon. On the menu, you’ll find the signature kimbap, savory croffles, a selection of Korean desserts like bingsu or sesame cheesecake, and signature drinks with familiar flavors twisted by ingredients like sweet potato or black sesame. Designed by Uchronia, the venue feels like a crossroads between Seoul and Paris, blending brushed steel, exposed brick, and touches of greenery. The diffuse lighting adapts to the time of day, giving the place the air of a refuge rather than a simple coffee shop.

To discover: En Y(AMAHA) at the Union de la Jeunesse Internationale

To mark the launch of its Paddock Blue 2026 collection, Yamaha takes over Barbès for a weekend, alongside the Union de la Jeunesse Internationale. Entitled En Y(amaha), the project takes place in the former Tati building, now occupied by UJI, and offers a visual and sonic reinterpretation of the brand’s racing identity. Conceived as a full installation, the scenography juxtaposes mechanical archives, technical garments, and emerging figures from the urban scene. Created by Ousmane Ly and styled by Mantoulaye Ndiaye and Leni Abdoulaye, the exhibition brings together models, photographs, videos, and exclusive pieces in a display exploring the intersections of speed, heritage, and style. The opening takes place tonight by invitation, followed by two open-access days, November 1st and 2nd.

Where to have fun: At the Gaîté Lyrique Halloween Ball

For nearly ten years, the Gaîté Lyrique has established itself as one of the few Parisian cultural venues consistently supporting the ballroom scene with care and respect. Residencies, battles, workshops: the institution has built itself as a safe space for this culture long kept on the fringes. This Saturday, it will once again transform into a voguing sanctuary for the fourth edition of the Halloween Party Ball. At the helm: two icons of the international ballroom scene — Jack Mizrahi Gorgeous Gucci, a sharp-tongued New York veteran, and Vinii Revlon, Europe’s first legend and a pillar of the Paris scene. Against a backdrop of trilled beats and supernatural appearances, participants will compete from 4 p.m. across thirty categories, including drag performances, haunted runways, macabre looks, and choreographic battles.
