5 things to do this weekend in Paris From July 11 to 14
In the blink of an eye, the week is coming to an end, and the weekend is already on the horizon. At the same time, summer has made a grand return to put an end to our winter suffering. It's time to enjoy the mild temperatures and long days by venturing out of your cocoon. More than ever, the streets are buzzing with activity to suit all tastes. Find out now what the city has in store for you this weekend.
Where to eat: Chez Rojo
Discreetly tucked on a Marais street corner, Rojo blends into the scenery. No prominent signage, no line at the door: the entrance, flush with the sidewalk, could easily go unnoticed. Inside, a muted space with fabric-covered walls, softly lit and structured around a central green island. The dark wood furniture and stone tables create a deliberate, effect-free setting. The menu offers a series of tapas centered around eggs, paired with cocktails that oscillate between remixed classics and freer creations. Service is unhurried, and the welcome is warm—even without a reservation. Rojo exists on its own timeline, apart from the district’s overloaded spots.

What to discover: Ubuntu by Alpha-Medy Kaba
Alpha-Medy Kaba is 28 years old, lives in Paris, and like many, is trying to understand where he comes from. Lacking definitive answers, he creates. *Ubuntu*, his first solo exhibition, will be held at Espace Temple from July 10 to 12. Three days to explore what connects or separates us, depending on the perspective. Inspired by the South African philosophy of the same name—“I am because we are”—the project blends personal quest and collective memory. Through a series of portraits, he crafts a sensitive narrative about identity, heritage, and how our stories are built together. Supported by Converse Europe, the exhibition offers a perspective focused on others, in a space designed as a place of dialogue and transmission.

Where to have fun: With Paris Gambit at the Union de la Jeunesse Internationale
@parisgambit Tout ce mois de juillet retrouvez nous tous les dimanches de 14h à 18h à @unionjeunesseinternationale Advice from Father - Buari
Who said you couldn’t have fun while being humiliated at chess? Every Sunday in July, Paris Gambit takes over the UJI in Barbès. The idea: open chess games for everyone, no judgment or dress code, where beginners face champions and learning comes as much from losing as it does from watching. It’s free, open to all, and it feels good to sit down without needing to buy anything in a city where a breath of fresh air costs a kidney.
