Acne Studios opens its first permanent art gallery in Paris
A new creative chapter opens under the columns of the Royal Palace
June 18th, 2025
One thing is certain : if there’s one capital that takes the first place in the ranking of cities with the best galleries and exhibitions—fashion-related or not—it’s Paris. A fact confirmed by Acne Studios, which on June 26 will open its very first permanent art gallery. Located under the historic arches of the Palais Royal in Paris, the gallery—already visible in a few photos showcasing its calm and serene vibe—was created following the editorial line of the Acne Paper magazine, the Swedish brand’s biannual publication. It offers a multidisciplinary program featuring exhibitions, talks, editorial launches, book signings, and cultural events. A few days before its opening, the space is already positioning itself as a new creative showcase, not only through the pieces it will display but also through the conversations and the platform it intends to give both established and emerging talents.
Indeed, its program plans to highlight various creative disciplines through the presence of work by modern masters and young artist-thinkers, each project being a genuine artistic exploration. Nestled under the neoclassical columns of Palais Royal in Paris’s 1st arrondissement, the gallery also presents itself as a place of calm and reflection, far from the noise and hustle of the capital—a space the city greatly needs. For its first exhibition, the gallery will host the work of Paul Kooiker, a Dutch artist known for his experimental photography. With this opening, Acne Studios confirms not only its status as an established fashion house but also as a cultural player involved in shaping the contemporary creative landscape. It’s something the brand has actively pursued since 1996, integrating photography, cinema, art, and design into its fashion image and creations. This opening clearly marks an important step not only in the brand’s cultural evolution but also enriches Paris with a new space where dialogue between art, design, photography, publishing, and craftsmanship flows continuously—infused with a touch of fashion thanks to the roots of its parent house.
