Kim Kardashian doesn't believe in the moon landing And NASA had to publicly refute the theories of the KUWK star
It’s July 20, 1969. The entire world has gathered, regardless of time zone, to witness the landing of the Apollo 11 astronauts on the Moon. «That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind,» Neil Armstrong reports back to Houston. From that moment on, history and science as they were known changed forever. A moment that, according to Kim Kardashian, never actually happened.
Did the Moon landing ever really happen?

In the latest episode of her reality show The Kardashians, the influencer said she doesn’t believe the Moon landing was real, fueling one of the most enduring and widespread conspiracy theories in pop culture. She explained that she had come across videos on TikTok questioning NASA’s official version. Among the points she mentioned - all widely debunked for decades - were the flag «waving despite the lack of gravity,» the astronauts’ footprints «different» from those preserved in museums, and the absence of stars visible in photos of the mission.
During the episode, Kardashian shows actress Sarah Paulson, her co-star in the upcoming drama All’s Fair, an interview with Buzz Aldrin, the astronaut who, along with Neil Armstrong, set foot on the lunar surface in 1969, reading aloud a quote that she claimed proved the entire thing was staged. She then adds that the perfect opportunity to have Aldrin talk about it would be on her sister Khloé’s podcast.
Kim’s comments didn’t go unnoticed. NASA responded almost in real time, choosing the most direct route possible, a post on X, where acting administrator Sean Duffy tagged the star to remind her that humans not only went to the Moon but did so five more times. Kardashian, however, seemed unfazed. In the episode, she explained that she has always been fascinated by conspiracy theories, convinced that the 1969 landing was merely a setup, even admitting that she often finds herself believing online conspiracies.
Debunking the Apollo 11 conspiracy
Despite the entertainment mogul’s attempt to convince Sarah Paulson that Buzz Aldrin had recently admitted the mission was staged, the truth is quite the opposite. Just last year, on the 55th anniversary of the landing, the astronaut gave an exclusive interview with People where he vividly and proudly recalled every moment of the mission. Aldrin emphasized his gratitude for the teamwork between the Houston crew and the astronauts, the absolute focus that kept them going for nearly a week in space, and the responsibility of representing all of humanity in an event that would forever change history.
And yet, despite statements like his and decades of scientific evidence, the theory that the 1969 Moon landing was filmed on a Hollywood soundstage continues to survive, fueled today by the relentless rhythm of social media. Skeptics still point to the flag or the footprints as signs of a grand hoax, ignoring the fact that every detail has been thoroughly explained: the flag’s movement was caused by a horizontal rod holding it in place, while the differences in footprints are due to the pressurized boots worn during the mission.
Since the 1970s, NASA has released thousands of images, reports, and recordings proving the authenticity of Apollo 11. In 2009, a group of Japanese researchers and later NASA itself captured new high-resolution photos of the lunar surface, showing the tracks left by the landing modules and the astronauts. The evidence is so overwhelming that the conspiracy theory has become more of a cultural phenomenon than a scientific doubt. But clearly, Attorney Kardashian must be more knowledgeable on the subject.
