5 things to do in Milan this weekend From 11 to 13 July
Another week has passed and another weekend awaits the hot and scorching Milan. The good news is that, after last Sunday's terrifying downpour, this time we can expect sunny days, but not unbearable. So, the desire to go out returns—to relax in the park, take long walks, and explore places, museums, and venues that have just opened, or those we've never had the chance to visit. As always, nss's guide to the best activities for your weekend in Milan highlights the best options for food, nights out, and exhibitions to share with friends if you don't have the time or desire to go to the beach.
So here are 5 things to do in Milan this weekend, from July 11 to 13.
To Eat - Muku Kyoto
This year, Muku Kyoto opened in Milan, the first restaurant of the Japanese chain outside of Japan. Located in the Cadorna area, in a cozy and relaxed setting with traditional and minimal interiors, here you can discover Kyoto’s traditional recipes in kappo style. You can enjoy the menu at the counter, for an experience that engages all the senses, or in a private room for more exclusivity. Among the most loved choices are the hassun, a misyo dish iconic of kappo tradition, and the Japanese shaved ice kakigori.
Via Giacomo Leopardi, 25
To Chill - Kora Beach
Milan may not have the sea, but someone brings it there. This year, Kora Beach opened at the Idroscalo, a beach club that hosts parties and events all summer long. In addition to enjoying the sun on the beach just a few kilometers from Milan’s center, here you can focus on well-being through yoga and meditation sessions, work thanks to dedicated coworking spaces, or unwind with cocktails and DJ sets.
Via Circonvallazione Est, 19
To Discover - Tarek Atoui @ HangarBicocca
At the Pirelli HangarBicocca space, in the north of Milan, you can discover the works of Lebanese artist Tarek Atoui. Through the use of four elements—water, air, stone, and bronze—he explores the absorption and propagation of sound to create listening experiences that spark curiosity and learning. The objects interact with the visitor and vice versa, producing a different outcome each time. The exhibition, titled Improvisation in 10 Days, uses sound and nature to bring to life a renewable and collective experience.
Via Chiese, 2
To Shop - Circolo del Collezionista
Some love wandering around antique markets and others are just pretending—after all, the beauty of these shops is that there's something for everyone. One spot to check out in Milan is Circolo del Collezionista, a 300-square-meter boutique that features furnishings, clothing, and accessories for the most eccentric or minimalist tastes, whether for serious collecting or just for fun.
Via Toffetti, 79
To Club - Fuera and Ceri Wax @ Triennale
On Saturday, July 12, Triennale Milano lights up with the unmistakable sound of Fuera and Ceri Wax. The project was created to celebrate clubbing culture, with a unique genre that spans from techno to electronic ambient. In the Voce Triennale garden, two exclusive sets will take place—one by Fuera and one by Ceri Wax, one of the most beloved producers in contemporary Italian music.
