The future of the Giorgio Armani company is in safe hands. Today, the Giorgio Armani Group announced the appointment of Giuseppe Marsocci as new CEO with immediate effect. The decision marks the beginning of a new era for the company founded exactly half a century ago by the legendary stylist, who passed away last September at the age of 91. Marsocci, a prominent figure within the organization for over two decades, directly succeeds the founder, also taking a seat on the board of directors.
Who is Giorgio Armani's new CEO?
Giuseppe Marsocci, from Turin and born in '63, brings with him a baggage of experience exceeding 35 years in the world of fashion and luxury. His career began in the sales sector, marketing and brand management at the GFT Group in Turin, where he collaborated with licensees of top brands like Valentino, Dior, Ungaro, Stone Island and Armani itself. Subsequently, he spent five years at Fila Sport as head of international development. His entry into the Armani Group dates back to 2003, since then he has taken on positions of increasing responsibility.
Initially commercial director of Armani Collezioni, he moved to lead the Swiss branch which was a logistics and customer service center for all foreign markets; then becoming global director of diffusion and wholesale lines. He worked for the brand in New York for over a decade: first as president of Trimil US, a joint venture between Zegna and Armani, and from 2014 to 2019 as CEO for the Americas. Since 2019, Marsocci has held the dual role of deputy managing director and global chief commercial officer, accumulating six years of strategic leadership.
The appointment of Marsocci was unanimously proposed by the Giorgio Armani Foundation and represents a signal of continuity. «His international expertise, deep knowledge of the sector and the company, combined with discretion, loyalty and team spirit – not forgetting his close relationship with Mr. Armani in recent years – make him the ideal choice to continue the path traced by the founder», declared Pantaleo Dell'Orco, the stylist's long-time partner and head of the men's division, who has taken on the role of chairman of the board of directors. Marsocci will report directly to the board chaired by Dell'Orco.

The transition is not limited to Marsocci's figure. Pantaleo “Leo” Dell'Orco will expand his role not only as president of the group, but also as president of the Giorgio Armani Foundation, which holds 30% of the voting rights in the business empire. Dell'Orco, therefore, personally controls 40% of the votes and has become the new central figure of the company. Silvana Armani, the founder's niece and head of womanswear, has then become vice president. This appointment, announced in the same statement, integrates a structure that balances internal experience and family ties, ensuring stability in a period of changes.
The board of directors will take its final form in the coming weeks, once the procedures related to the execution of the legendary designer's will are completed. The company has nonetheless chosen to accelerate the CEO's appointment to avoid interruptions in daily management, and to proceed with all operations without interruptions. The founding principles and continuity directives indicated by the founder will remain at the center of future strategies.
Regarding the Giorgio Armani Foundation, the board composition includes Andrea Camerana, the stylist's nephew, who directly succeeds the founder. Beside him, Pantaleo Dell'Orco and Irving Bellotti, partner of Rothschild & Co. The notary Elena Terrenghi, whose studio presided over the opening of the will, completes the group as a board member. The Surveillance Committee, finally, which will have to supervise operations in line with Armani's indications, includes the nieces Roberta and Silvana Armani.
