5 things to do in Milan this weekend From December 12 to 14
The Christmas holidays are getting closer and closer, a rather melancholic time of year that, if it weren’t for our friends and loved ones, would leave us even more exhausted by the end of the year. Corporate parties, professional dinners and «let’s catch up» aside, if you find yourself in Milan this weekend and don’t know what to do, you can find inspiration in nss’ weekly guide. DJ sets, Christmas markets and ultra-crispy pizzas are waiting for you - not bad, right?
Here are five things to do in Milan this weekend, from December 12 to 14.
To Eat - Futura
Futura has recently opened, featuring the work of one of Rome’s most beloved pizza makers. In the Isola district you can now enjoy an ultra-thin, round and crispy pizza, a rather unique take on one of the dishes most criticized and debated by Italians. If you’re on team Roman-style pizza, this is the place for you.
Via Pietro Borsieri, 28
To Chill - Bar Sandøy
If between a bit of shopping and a museum visit you feel like grabbing a bite, Bar Sandøy awaits you in Via Melzo, a new Milan opening offering natural wines, aperitifs and other gastronomic tastings in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The bar was conceived as a walk-in, for those passing by who feel like having a glass before moving on - although the delicious small plates definitely tempt you to stay a little longer.
Via Melzo, 3
To Discover - Ettore Sottsass "Mise en scène" @ Triennale
On December 12, Triennale Milano inaugurates a new exhibition exploring the figure of Ettore Sottsass, together with Studio Sottsass. The project brings together around 1,200 photographs in black and white and in color taken between 1976 and 2007, from the meeting of Barbara Radice and Ettore Sottsass to the year of the architect’s death. An intimate look into the life of one of the most important visionaries in the history of Italian design.
Viale Emilio Alemagna, 6
To Shop - Christmas Markets @ 21 House of Stories
The atmospheric spaces of 21 House of Stories Navigli immerse themselves in the Christmas universe with markets, workshops and special guests. It’s the perfect occasion if you still need to find some gifts or if, as a Christmas lover, you want to explore the holiday spirit with one of the events on the program.
Via Ascanio Sforza, 7
To Party - Arca
Arca has planned a rich schedule for this weekend, but Saturday night promises to be especially memorable. The venue will host an event entirely dedicated to Neapolitan musical excellence: presented by Anna Molly, the archival yet ultra-contemporary sound of Napoli Segreta lands in Milan for a unique set.
