The new MyTheresa x Gucci capsule collection

A celebration of the Seventies aesthetic and the quintessence of luxury vintage

The new MyTheresa x Gucci capsule collection A celebration of the Seventies aesthetic and the quintessence of luxury vintage

Just a few weeks after announcing its withdrawal from most Italian multi-brand stores, Gucci returns on the first pages with a new exclusive collaboration together with Mytheresa, one of the most important online retailers for luxury shopping. The capsule collection, available worldwide from 15 July, is made up of 46 ready-to-wear pieces, accessories and footwear inspired by the Pre/Fall 2020 collection.

This is an important step for MyTheresa: it is, in fact, the largest men's clothing collection ever launched by the platform since the section dedicated to menswear, debuted earlier this year, on January 27th. The launch was accompanied by a look book starring members of the Australian electropop band Parcels, already famous for their retro style. The campaign images were taken by photographer Bella Lieberberg, under the direction of MyTheresa creative director Julian Paul

The collection is a precise summary of everything that today represents Gucci's aesthetics and style: all the items recall the typical aesthetics of Alessandro Michele, who returns to dive in the Seventies and rework some typical elements of the brand, such as the "GG" monograms and the clamp details. Proudly carrying on the celebration and the quintessence of vintage luxury, Michele offers a vast collection of silk, ribbed socks, leather moccasins with diapers, high-necked sweaters and double-breasted jackets, enriched by the label with the slogan "Quelle qu'en soit la saison" (literally "Whatever the season"). Among the hit pieces, a Horsebit 1955 duffel bag in green with gold-coloured clamp buckles and the complementary shoulder bag stand out.

The capsule collection can is available worldwide, starting from 15 July 2020, on the official Mytheresa website.
