INTERVENTION returns to Berlin for its sixth edition The cultural platform celebrating the value of the analogue

From July 2 to 5, Berlin Fashion Week will host the sixth edition of INTERVENTION, the cultural platform by Reference Studios, curated by Mumi Haiati, which has established itself in recent years as a meeting point for fashion, art and contemporary research. Once again created in collaboration with the curatorial platform P100, this edition presents a citywide programme spanning exhibition spaces and cultural institutions across the German capital.

"At a time of rapid technological acceleration, there is something almost romantic about insisting on the value of live experience, of the analogue and of handmade craftsmanship," said Mumi Haiati, explaining how INTERVENTION VI continues the reflection on authenticity that Reference Studios began exploring over the past few months.

Opening the programme is Partie Deux, the new exhibition by Galerie OM at P100 on Potsdamer Straße. The exhibition brings together rugs, tapestries and design objects to reflect on themes of memory, ritual and the visual languages shared across different cultures. On July 4 and 5, the focus will shift to the Schinkel Pavillon, where Shayne Oliver will present MUSEUM EBAY ARCHETYPES, a project developed from his personal archive. Through archival garments, deadstock fabrics and a selection of pieces available for purchase on eBay, the installation explores the ways in which objects continue to circulate and acquire new meanings, further expanding his research into the relationship between fashion, performance and community.

July 5 will be dedicated to the fashion shows held at the Kronprinzenpalais. The runway schedule will feature Dagger, the Berlin based label founded by Luke Rainey, Martin Quad, John Lawrence Sullivan by Arashi Yanagawa and, closing the programme, GmbH, celebrating the brand's tenth anniversary. Between the shows, Berlin musician Braths will accompany visitors with a series of live performances in the palace gardens.

The Berlin event also marks the first chapter of Reference Studios' new international calendar. This autumn, the project will continue with REFERENCE FESTIVALS, which will travel to Paris before moving on to the Rhine Ruhr region, further expanding the dialogue between fashion, art and culture beyond the boundaries of fashion week.
