Essentiel Antwerp collaborates with the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp The brand supports young talents from the prestigious Belgian fashion school
Essentiel Antwerp has launched the second edition of its exclusive collaboration with the Fashion Department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, the prestigious school that has trained legends such as the Antwerp Six. This year, the partnership takes the form of a capsule collection signed by the Academy's master's student Conor Turley, who, together with the brand's creative team, reinterpreted silhouettes inspired by his second-year collection, which was based on the roaring Twenties and the Berlin nightclub Eldorado.
The inspiration behind Turley's collection comes from the documentary that follows the first queer community in Germany in the '20s, a theme that deeply impressed the designer. The capsule collection is made up of four items: a bomber jacket, a dress, a shirt, and a skirt, combining Turley's stylistic vision with the brand's eclectic spirit.
Following the success of the first edition, Essentiel Antwerp reaffirms its commitment to providing young designers with a concrete platform to emerge. The brand has overseen every phase of the creative process, from design to production and marketing. Inge Onsea, co-founder and creative director of Essentiel Antwerp, emphasized that this project encourages new ideas and allows the brand to maintain its continually evolving universe through mentoring.
