On 26th February, the last day of Milan Fashion Week will be premiering MILANO: The Inside Story of Italian Fashion, a film by John Maggio recounting the events that took place the days before the assassination of Gianni Versace, including details on the secret planning of the merger between Gucci and Versace.

Full of revelations and exclusive testimonies, the documentary includes incomparable protagonists such as Sharon Stone, Tom Ford, and Giorgio Armani, who for the first time will tell his story through an intimate portrait in front of the cameras. Starting from his origins, the legendary fashion designer Armani will offer the audience an exclusive insight into his personal life, including all the highlights of the rise of his empire, from the project that saw him design Richard Gere's wardrobe for American Gigolo (1980) to the rivalry that divided him from Versace. His narration will be joined by that of other equally famous faces in the world of entertainment, such as Helen Mirren, Samuel L. Jackson, and Frances McDormand, as well as the key point of view of fashion editor Suzy Menkes and Pierpaolo Piccioli, who will talk about Valentino's 'performance art' project.

Santo Versace will also be among the interviewees, to recount the tragic day of his brother's assassination on 15th July 1997 and the reasons behind Gianni Versace's approval of the merger plan with Gucci, while Tom Ford and Domenico De Sole will uncover the true story of House of Gucci, narrating in first person the assassination of Maurizio Gucci organized by his ex-wife Patrizia Reggiani. «MILANO is an international film with a deep Italian soul,» explains Giuseppe Pedersoli, executive producer and co-author of the documentary, «it intends to represent that Sistema Italia, managing to overcome very complex periods, is still a fundamental driver for our country.»
