5 things to do in Milan this weekend From November 14 to 16
It seems that, as mid-November arrives, the warm tones of autumn are beginning to give way to winter’s grey. Even the weather, which had offered several sunny days earlier this week, is expected to turn dull over the weekend and bring widespread rain. But for anyone not yet ready to slip into the lethargy of the colder months, and willing to brave the seasonal chill, nss magazine’s weekly guide is back with 5 things to do in Milan this weekend.
To Eat – Al Baretto Sant’Ambrogio
Al Baretto Sant’Ambrogio opened this week, marking the Milanese outpost of the renowned Venetian restaurant Al Baretto San Marco. With a menu that celebrates Italian culinary tradition reinterpreted through a refined approach, and not one but two bars, the new restaurant is set to become the next place-to-be in the Solari area.
Via Privata Bobbio, 1
To Chill – Duoo
Following the summer break, a new opening in the heart of Porta Genova has quickly established itself as one of Milan’s best bubble tea bars: Duoo. Staying true to Asian tradition, the menu includes every possible variation of tea, from Thai Iced Tea to Chinese chrysanthemum tea and the much-loved Japanese matcha. Alongside its delicious drink selection, you can also enjoy an afternoon snack with handmade mochi, egg tarts, homemade cakes and shaved ice.

To Discover – William Farr @ GOLAB
From 6 to 27 November, the spaces of GOLAB will host the first solo show in Italy by British painter William Farr. His abstract canvases, created through a continuous process of layering and removing colour, explore the theme of attachment in a tactile and intimate dimension. Curated by Filippo Formenti, founder of RUBEDO ARTS, the exhibition is accessible by appointment only.

To Shop – The Cloister
In the heart of the 5Vie district lies a gem for vintage lovers. The Cloister is a concept store specialising in curated vintage selection, pairing fashion with modernist design, fragrances, footwear and niche publications. A perfect spot to spend a grey afternoon and discover a few archival treasures.
