Chanel celebrates the opening of the dance season 2025/26 at the Opéra de Paris The eternal dialogue between haute couture and the stage continues thanks to the Maison de la Rue Cambon

The Palais Garnier once again became the stage of a historic alliance between art and fashion. Last night, the House of Chanel, as Major Patron of the Paris Opera, renewed its commitment by supporting the prestigious Opening Gala of the 2025/26 dance season. True to the momentum initiated by Gabrielle Chanel more than a century ago, the House thus celebrates the living and essential dialogue between fashion and dance. A privileged bond that has continued to grow stronger since 2018, consolidated by its status as Major Patron since 2023.

The evening offered the audience a captivating show, with the presentation of Annabelle López Ochoa’s ballet Requiem for a Rose and a performance of the classic Giselle. The highlight, traditionally the most anticipated moment, was the opening parade. The Étoile dancers were joined for the second time by members of the Junior Ballet, a company created in 2024 that Chanel supports to open the discipline to new profiles and audiences. These young artists wore costumes specially imagined by the House and the Opera workshops, enhanced by the meticulous work of feather and flower artisan Lemarié. Each of the twelve tutus created for the Junior Ballet is a masterpiece of craftsmanship. They are hand-decorated with 300 pinches of ostrich strands, while the bodice is adorned with a camellia in white satin, hand-shaped and accented with feathers. Beyond this Gala, Chanel’s commitment to the Paris Opera runs deep: it extends to the future restoration of the Opera’s four sites and to the development of the Junior Ballet, illustrating a determination to actively support the transmission and the future of dance.
