LAUD END PRAUD returns with a new event To fight homophobia, lesbophobia, and transphobia

Conceived by Andrea Semeghini, creative director of the brand VANADIO23, which since 2023 has joined UNCND.ltd as a producer and strategy development, LAUD END PRAUD returns with a new appointment thanks to the collaboration of MOSSO, which has joined as a co-production partner. LAUD END PRAUD 2024 took place on Friday, May 17th at Via Mosso 3, in Milan. The event anticipated Pride Month and celebrated such an important day to say no to violence with an event open to the entire community, its allies, and all people who want to participate, creating a space for discussion, comparison, and fun. MarieClaire and nss magazine have supported and endorsed the initiative aimed at ensuring a world in which everyone feels safe, free, and comfortable with their own identity and sexual orientation, and where they can freely express their ideas.

VANADIO23 is an independent Italian brand founded by Andrea Semeghini, which, through a bizarre mix of sex, play, and provocation, encourages people to ironically embrace their own sexuality and free themselves from norms through design and clothing. UNCND Ltd collaborates with international institutions to promote initiatives aimed at incubating young talents and emerging designers, develops special projects in the fashion and design sectors, as well as organizing events. MOSSO is the social and cultural project operating in the Via Padova area in a "fluid space" of 3000 sqm inaugurated in June 2022, which fully embraces the values and mission of LAUD END PRAUD. The appointment was at MOSSO on May 17th at 5:00 PM, with the presentation of the Festival schedule curated by VANADIO23 and Manuela Ravasio (Editor in Chief of MarieClaire).

It was a very rich day. It started at 5:30 PM with the talk Milan is a welcoming city? in which Daniele Biaggi, author of the QUiD podcast (StorieLibere), and Jonathan Bazzi, writer, discussed in a live episode, trying to highlight the thousand contradictions of the city. At 5:45 PM, the BALLROOM SCENE Talk delved into the key concepts of the ballroom scene in Italy. Vitto Pascale, activist and creator of the GENDERATION project, discussed it with La B. Fujiko and Kenjii Benjii. At 6:45 PM, Pietro Turano and Monica J. Romano talked about the book: There is no going back published by TEA in 2023 by Monica J. Romano, a personal story, of struggle and politics. Pietro Turano, actor and activist, interviewed the newly elected candidate for the European elections for the PD. At 8:00 PM everything stopped to make room for the fashion show titled: Dorothy's Friends inspired by The Wizard of Oz. BE NINA, FANTABODY, FLORANIA, GIORGIA ANDREAZZA, MARCELLO PIPITONE, SIMON CRACKER, SIRAINER, VITELLI were called upon to reinterpret one of the characters from the famous book. The theme derives from the phrase "Are you a friend of Dorothy?" used to identify oneself within the queer community in America's clubs at the end of the Second World War. In the 1950s, homosexuality was still punishable by law, and that phrase constituted a coded language accessible only to representatives of the community itself.

At 9:00 PM, Lorenzo Campagnari hosted the show FANTASTIC! Believe it. The variety show from San Nolo in an exceptional version and full of guests including Alberto Sacco, Alo Casini, BornaJeans, Edoardo Zaggia, Elisa Bottiglieri, Fizo, Pierluca Mariti, and many others. On May 18th, the appointment was again at 5:00 PM and the following events took place: in the internal room on the first floor, space was found for the presentation of the films: WHAT DO WE SEE WHEN WE LOOK AT THE SKY, PLEASE BABY PLEASE, PASSAGES, MEDUSA DELUXE, FAYA DAYI by MUBI. A selection of Queer-themed films curated by Giada De Martino. At 5:30 PM THE KEY OF BERLIN by V. Latronico, interview with the author by Carlotta Sanzogni. It continued at 6:30 PM with the talk IDENTITY ISSUES: crossing the body: a conversation about discovery, challenges, and the struggle for the rights of the community with Nicola Posteraro and Giacomo Cardaci. Moreover, at 7:45 PM, there was room for the talk QUEER FAMILY: Does the queer family really exist? This challenge was answered by Anna Maria Fisichella from AGEDO and Lorenzo Mattiello from Mica Macho and Espressy. It concludes at 11:00 PM with the DJ SET BY PLASTIK DOLL AND HIS CREW: From LAUD LAUD LAUD, on the console Plastik Doll and the Balera Favela duo: Ckrono and Il Romantico and their crew.
