Thirteen international artists announced for Turin's C2C The date for Italy's largest indoor music festival is approaching

The twenty-second edition of the C2C Festival will take place in the fall, within the prestigious context of Turin's Contemporary Art Week. The XXI edition of the Festival concluded with great international success, confirming C2C Festival as the largest indoor music festival in Italy. It was a magnificent edition, with 35,000 participants from 40 countries around the world, which consolidated the festival's international positioning within the network of major contemporary music events, definitively breaking down the boundaries and distances between musical genres. C2C Festival was born in the early 2000s as Club To Club. Over the years, it has built its reputation through longevity and excellence, evolving from one of Europe's most representative dance festivals into an internationally renowned platform for the most adventurous contemporary music realities. Bold and forward-thinking, C2C Festival is characterized by a unique artistic vision dedicated to the spirit of avant-garde and contemporary pop culture. The festival highlights transglobal scenes in constant evolution, recontextualizing musical culture and art forms through immersive and monumental performances, in unique settings and extraordinary locations. C2C Festival will last four days, from October 31st to November 3rd, 2024. Among the various locations, the magnificent OGR will host events on Thursday and Sunday, and Lingotto Fiere, which this year will open the doors to the 22nd edition of the Festival starting from Thursday, in addition to the fixed events on Friday and Saturday. The cutting-edge production of the Festival will reach its zenith at Lingotto. The artistic lineup, featuring advanced pop, experimental, electronic, rap, rock, jazz, pop, and R&B music, will see six important returns – Arca, Bicep, Nicolas Jaar (this time with the band Darkside), Romy, Shabaka, Ben Ufo – and eight artists making their debut at C2C – billy woods, Kali Malone, Mandy, Indiana, Mabe Fratti, Pangaea, Pearson Sound, Nala Sinephro, Sega Bodega, Sofia Kourtesis.

Titled Living with the Gods, inspired by the eponymous essay by art historian Neil MacGregor, the 22nd edition of the C2C Festival will take place in Turin from October 31st to November 3rd. Arca takes center stage: among the most revolutionary musical talents on the international scene, their work explores body and identity, amalgamating different genres and media with extreme freedom and stylistic coherence. Returning to C2C Festival nationally exclusive after starring in a memorable show in 2017 at Lingotto, replicated five years later at the OGR, fresh off the monumental discographic success of Kick. Exactly ten years after appearing at Teatro Carignano for "Viva Club to Club", Darkside by Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington make their return, a project in which the two artists found common ground in the hybrid of electronic music and psychedelic rock expressed in the acclaimed albums Psychic and Spiral. Making their concert debut is Romy of the xx, after DJ performances in 2019 and 2022, while Bicep, who captivated Lingotto in 2022, are now the exclusive Italian creators of the audiovisual set Chroma, in collaboration with artist Zak Norman/Black Box Echo. There is also great curiosity for Shabaka: setting aside the saxophone that made him famous – for example, with Comet Is Coming, admired at the festival in 2019 – alongside the surname Hutchings, he now explores a new expressive dimension evidenced on record by the EP Afrikan Culture (playing the bamboo flute called shakuhachi in Japan, and African instruments such as m'bira and kora) and the recent project Kofi Flexxx. The New York rapper billy woods participates in the latter, appearing for the first time at the festival: among the recurring characters in the best albums of 2023 playlists with Maps, a work created with Kenny Segal. Sega Bodega also makes his debut at C2C Festival, alias Salvador Navarrete, an Irishman with Chilean blood, owner of the Nuxxe label and a producer at the crossroads between hyperpop and UK bass, recently involved in the single by Björk and Rosalía, Oral.

As usual, the specific weight of female sensitivity is substantial, embodied by the American multi-instrumentalist based in Sweden Kali Malone, a minimalist experimenter in the upcoming All Life Long, the Guatemalan cellist Mabe Fratti, an eclectic solo improviser (the excellent Se Ve Desde Aquí from 2022), in the duo Titanic and the quartet Amor Muere, the Peruvian producer and DJ based in Berlin Sofia Kourtesis, highlighted last year on record with Madres, and the Belgian harpist and synthesist of Martinican origin Nala Sinephro, author of the ambient jazz masterpiece Warp Space 1.8. And it is singer Valentine Caulfield, as captivating as the protagonist of the film Titane, who leads Mandy, Indiana: a post-punk band emerged from the undergrowth of Manchester with the gritty charm of the album I've Seen a Way. Finally, behind the decks we find the team from Hessle Audio, among the most influential contemporary British club labels, represented by founders Ben UFO, Pangaea, and Pearson Sound.
