UGG® ballet flats, escape rooms, and symmetry: an interview with PinkPantheress We spoke with the pop star about her past year and what a day in her life looks like when she's not headlining festivals around the world

Few artists have had a year quite like PinkPantheress. First came Fancy That, then the Producer of the Year award at the BRITs, Coachella, a summer spent almost entirely on festival stages and, finally, Stateside, which, thanks to its remix with Zara Larsson, became one of the biggest songs of her career. Somewhere along the way, PinkPantheress also became one of those artists you can recognise before you even hear them: through the capri pants, the ballet flats, the slightly unusual proportions of her outfits and an aesthetic that keeps borrowing from the 2000s without ever feeling truly nostalgic.
Maybe that is also why seeing her in UGG®'s new Born to Feel campaign does not come as much of a surprise. Ballet flats have long been something of a uniform for her and, when we ask which pair is her favourite, she does not hesitate: the furry camel-toned ballet flats, which she says she wears practically every day. We spoke to PinkPantheress about exactly that: what she wears when she wants to feel most like herself, the rules she follows when putting together an outfit, Coachella, what is left after the end of the Fancy That era, and how she spends a day off when she has nowhere she needs to be.
When do you feel most like yourself?
I would say when I’m with my close friends or when I’m producing. That’s when I feel the most like myself.
Do you have a favorite pair of UGG shoes in your collection?
I am actually obsessed with the furry camel-toned ballet flats. I literally wear them every day.
What makes them special to you, and where have they been with you?
They’re super comfortable, but not as casual as other slippers. I honestly take them with me everywhere because I like to wear them while traveling, but most recently I wore them to All Points East in London.
Ballet flats have become such a big part of your style. Do you have any rules when putting together a look?
I’m never going to wear super high heels for longer than I need to, but I would say I really pay attention to balancing my pieces. I love fashion symmetry. Like, I’m not going to wear a capri with a knee-high boot…
Out of everything that happened over the past year, which moment has stayed with you the most?
Maybe my Coachella performance. It’s such an insane milestone, and it was one of the biggest productions we’ve pulled off on this run. We had such an amazing team pulling everything together.
Now that your summer festival tour is over, what do you do when you finally have a day off?
I’ll give you a typical day off: late morning, head to breakfast with Ed, my best friend, and then maybe a movie or an escape room. End the day with a dinner out of the house, and wind down with a documentary.
If you could design your perfect pair of UGG shoes, what would they look like?
They kinda already made it, that fur-lined ballet flat…
So, in the end: do you Fancy That, or do you Fancy Some More?
We all fancy a bit more, don’t we?
