Parisian designer Lou Menais collaborates with Schott NYC A cult piece revisited through intimacy and craftsmanship

It’s more than a collaboration -it’s a story of transmission. Parisian designer Lou Menais brings her singular aesthetic to the iconic Schott NYC bomber, completely reimagining the legendary piece. The cult jacket takes on a new dimension: precious, personal, and contemporary. The result is a capsule collection that fuses streetwear energy with couture craftsmanship.

Shot by Rayan Rey and produced by Henry TV, the campaign features a star-studded cast of the designer’s friends and muses, including singers Bonnie Banane and Ichon, as well as painter De Rrusie. Yet among these familiar faces from the French cultural landscape, one carries a deeply personal resonance: Lou Menais’ own father, anchoring the project in family ties. At its heart, this collaboration is about human connections -from her meeting with Dan, Schott NYC’s marketing director, to Aska, creative director at Atelier Montex, the artisan house-in-residence at Le19M, Chanel’s hub for métiers d’art. Founded in 1949, Atelier Montex embodies exceptional craftsmanship, where traditional skill meets advanced technology.

The jacket itself is a showcase of meticulous work: visible topstitching, offset Burlington diamonds embellished with crystals, and signature Montex embroidery. Every detail reflects both the atelier’s virtuosity and the limitless creativity of Lou Menais. The color palette further reinterprets the bomber: soft pink elevates the khaki nylon, while other pairings venture into bolder territory -navy and orange, burgundy and sky blue. On nss France, she sums up the collection’s essence: “The inspiration for this capsule was to blend worlds: the very sporty, iconic Schott bomber with the haute couture expertise of Atelier Montex and the creative freedom of a young brand like mine.”

Another signature touch: Lou Menais’ monogram. The “L” and “M” transform endlessly, drawing on inspirations from matador jackets, djellabas, and the wrought-iron balconies of Paris. “I wanted to play with the imagination of my logo,” she explains. The capsule, initially conceived for herself and her circle, reflects these multiple influences.

Trained as a creative director, Lou Menais honed her skills at international houses like Marc Jacobs before founding JOUR/NE and later joining Rouje as design director. She launched her own label in January 2025, quickly establishing a personal vision, shortly after welcoming her first child. Just over a year later, she gives birth to a new project with Schott, propelling her Parisian brand onto an international stage.

The pop-up takes place on April 9 at 6 rue de la Corderie, 3rd arrondissement, Paris.
