The seventh edition of EDIT Napoli 2025 is coming soon Design in motion between history and new visions
Naples is set to pulse with the rhythm of contemporary design: from October 10 to 12, 2025, the seventh edition of EDIT Napoli returns, the fair dedicated to editorial and authorial design, confirming itself this year as a dynamic and constantly evolving platform. Open to the public for three intense days with a press preview on October 9, the event explores the theme of "movement" as its guiding thread, weaving together the city’s architectural stories with creative innovations. A special preview will enliven the edition with an unprecedented collaboration between EDIT and nss edicola: on October 9, the event will see EDIT, Concettina ai Tre Santi, and nnsedicola hosting a pizza party at Via Arena della Sanità 7 bis to celebrate the opening with a convivial and delicious atmosphere, while from October 10 to 12, the EDITXConcettinaXnnsedicola takeover will transform the same space into a hub of design and street food, strengthening the bond between creativity and everyday Neapolitan life.
A journey through iconic locations
This year, EDIT Napoli expands its boundaries, transforming into an itinerant experience that dialogues with the city’s historical heritage. The beating heart remains La Santissima, the frescoed ancient monastery in the Quartieri Spagnoli, now revitalized thanks to the Urban Value project and turned into an innovation hub. Here, national and international exhibitors will find their place, in a striking contrast between ancient and contemporary. But the 2025 edition goes further: for the first time, the fair extends to the prestigious Musei Nazionali del Vomero, including Castel Sant’Elmo, the Certosa di San Martino, and Villa Floridiana. These locations will be active protagonists of the narrative, inviting visitors to read the city through design.
Movement becomes the key element, with pathways connecting the upper and lower parts of Naples, symbolizing a shift in perspective on the metropolis and design as a transformative force. As Domitilla Dardi, curator and founder of EDIT Napoli, notes, year after year the curatorship builds content that bridges design and the city, with a distinctive approach that intertwines historical places and contemporary creativity, fostering constant growth and turning research into a narrative where design goes beyond proposing objects to build visions rooted in the history and culture of the places.
Exhibitors and new presences
The works of the exhibitors represent the pulsating heart of EDIT Napoli. Among the confirmed presences stand out the past edition’s winners, Atelier Nuanda and Bianco67 with their project Parasite, alongside established names like ARTIERI 1895, Eleit.it, BLOK Design, and Incalmi, which ensure continuity and quality, offering visitors a dialogue between artisanal traditions and contemporary experiments. The 2025 edition shines, however, with novelties, featuring debuts such as Heike Buchfelder, Fornace Brioni, Made of Matter, People of the Sun, Studio Bojola, and Utòl, names that enrich the landscape with innovative and sustainable approaches. Particularly significant is the renewed Spanish participation, thanks to the España Diseño Mediterráneo call in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes in Naples, bringing Iberian talents ready to infuse a Mediterranean flair into the Neapolitan context.
Space is also given to new generations in the Seminario area, dedicated to creatives under 30 or projects active for no more than three years, where fresh and disruptive voices emerge. The setup, curated by the duo Lemonot formed by Sabrina Morreale and Lorenzo Perri, plays with material contrasts: light, almost intangible surfaces alternate with powerful masses, evoking the theme of flow. At the entrance, a suspended structure, a monumental “clothesline” of tubulars, hooks, and steel cables, recalls port architecture and the maritime world, with Thalassa fabrics in cyanotype by Teresa Carnuccio swaying like sails. On the ground, seating and lamps by Milani define fluid pathways, while benches in Ranieri lava stone with vibrant enamels create sensory rest areas. In the bookshop, metals, fabrics, and stone dialogue with the historical architecture, generating tactile and visual harmonies.
The Jury, awards, and collaborations
The highlight is not to be missed: the award for the best unpublished project, assigned by an international high-profile jury that includes Alvaro Catalán de Ocón, a globally renowned designer known for his PET lamps, Claire Laurent, partner at Paragone between Paris and New York, Alessandro Valenti, digital director of ELLE Decor Italia, and Ermanno Zanini, General Manager of Jumeirah Capri Palace. The evaluation criteria reward intelligent design, respect for cultural heritage, and balanced pricing that ensures accessibility without compromising quality, offering the winner a free spot in the next edition as a concrete incentive for emerging talents. Collaborations further elevate the event: with LABO Cultural Project, under the curatorship of The Design Blender, a symbolic bridge is created between Genoa and Naples, with Massimiliano Dalle Sasse presenting the D Lab collection by Davide Balda, experimenting with Nuno Felt, an innovative fabric made from recycled fibers processed manually, while EDIT winners will exhibit at Milano Design Week 2026 in the context of LABÒ.
The partnership with DesignWanted continues, bringing to the fair Shellf Life by Felicia Neuhof, a project that transforms oyster, mussel, and clam shells into sustainable building materials, a zero-kilometer alternative to cement and polluting plastics. Emilia Petruccelli, founder and director of EDIT Napoli, highlights that with this edition, the strategic path of design in Naples is consolidated, culminating with the America’s Cup in 2027, an event that will bring over 1.5 million visitors to the city and a growing demand in the hospitality and retail sectors, confirming EDIT as a privileged observatory for design protagonists and a hospitality world that shares the need for innovation and quality, offering a concrete short-term development opportunity for businesses and the territory.
EDIT CULT: Design dialogues with history
The CULT program, this year in collaboration with the Musei Nazionali del Vomero, elevates the event into a multidimensional narrative. In the evocative spaces of these institutions, projects by prominent names unite heritage, art, and design in a flow between past and future. At the Certosa di San Martino, Alvaro Catalán de Ocón presents PET Lamp Gurunsi: Shadows, textile and the Frafra weavers at the Ninfeo, an installation exploring shadows and ethnic textiles, Azucena exhibits Unseen visions in the Refectory, revealing hidden design visions, and Bethan Laura Wood for Poltronova offers Terrazzo Quarry in the Loggia del Priore, a material homage to Italian tradition.
At Castel Sant’Elmo, Luca Boscardin for Magis installs Animal Factory in the Piazza d’Armi, a playful investigation into serial production, and Diego Rivero Borrell for Ranieri creates Paisaje de Reflejos, reflective landscapes that dialogue with the fortress. At Villa Floridiana, Marta Sala Éditions celebrates Il Tempo della Forma - A tribute to the city and the brand’s ten years 2015-2025, Elena Salmistraro for Officine Tamborrino explores Nomadaria, nomadism and rootedness, and Tomás Alía with Estudio Caramba unveils Finestra celata. These interventions transform the museums into living design showcases, fostering cross-pollination that roots creativity in Neapolitan history.
