All the luxury brands mentioned in MIU MIU by Tony Effe «Tony comprami la borsa»

ICON, the new album by Tony Effe, was released a week ago: amidst trap sounds (CARRARA featuring Simba La Rue) and French house (MIU MIU containing a sample of Music Sounds Better With You by Stardust), the usual, inimitable Tony Effe has shown he doesn't care about being categorized into a music genre. In the verses of the tracks, weapons and luxury brands, the narrative devices Tony uses to romanticize his own lifestyle, always find an important space, but the Roman artist has reserved special attention to the pop theme par excellence: love, declined in all its forms, with the help of artists like Bresh and Tedua. Tony has also reinterpreted the love for the game of football, turning the original version of Tu Corri! by Gemelli Diversi into PARTICOLARI SPORCHI, a song decidedly more raw than sugary.

Following the release of each album, there is always the search for the so-called hit, the track that has the potential to become not only a versatile piece, perfect for listening to in the club, from the speakers of your trusted beach resort, or by connecting the aux cable to the car stereo. Tony is no stranger to hits of this caliber: everyone will remember Sportswear, Cono Gelato, Caramelle and Cambiare Adesso, or better yet Effe, the single contained in Untouchable, his first solo album that established him as a hitmaker. Since the release of ICON, the title of hit has been earned by MIU MIU, a song stylistically very similar to Sportswear, which combines the names of the most famous brands with luxurious locations, such as St. Tropez, Courchevel, and Paris.

The song opens with «Miu Miu, Courchevel»: Tony immediately sets the tone of the song by relying on the voice of Palmitessa, the hip-hop artist who sings the chorus alternating with the verses sung by Tony throughout the song. Tony opens the first verse mentioning Chanel and Louis Vuitton, then mentioning Balenciaga, Fendi, and Gucci. Only the most nostalgic will have associated Fendi and Gucci with Cavallini, the historic track of 2015 in collaboration between Dark Polo Gang and Sfera Ebbasta in which the iconic bar of Dark Side (former historic member of DPG) is contained: «Troia non mangio sushi, mi piacciono Fendi e Gucci». Creating a bridge between 2015 and 2024, Tony says «Il maschio lo chiamo "Gucci", la femmina "Fendi"». Tony Effe's second verse begins, with the artist mentioning Louis Vuitton again, but this time in the abbreviated version "LV": «Ho un viaggio per L.A., LV la duffle bag», mentioning one of the best-selling leather goods items in the brand's history. The luxury watch sector continues: Tony sings «Addosso ho Audemars Piguet, in borsa un altro Patek». Not to miss anything, Tony also explores the automotive sector. In the last verse sung, the rapper exclaims: «Compro una Ferrari gialla, come Totti gol», leaving listeners with the hamlet doubt: is the eighth King of Rome Francesco Totti or Tony Effe?
