PETA's latest Fashion Week protest was more chaotic than usual At the COS runway show in New York, demonstrators clashed with CFDA president Steven Kolb

Yesterday, Sunday September 13, during one of the many shows at New York Fashion Week, the runway served as the backdrop for a rather chaotic scene. PETA, the non-profit organization supporting animal rights that has stormed several shows in recent years with shouts and protest signs, launched an attack against COS, a brand belonging to the H&M group. The activists appeared on the runway waving placards against the brand's use of wool, which demonstrators claim is obtained through cruel practices toward animals.

This time, the activists' protest at Fashion Week was further inflamed by Steven Kolb, president and CEO of the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America), who was among the show's guests and decided to intervene personally. Kolb physically restrained the two protesters, a scene captured on multiple phones that is now making the rounds on social media, accompanied by comments and criticism directed at the CFDA president's allegedly «excessively violent» behavior.

Kolb has acknowledged that he reacted «inappropriately», while the CFDA has reiterated that this type of disruption should be handled exclusively by designated security personnel. But PETA appears ready to take the head of American fashion to court: the organization has stated that it has filed a report with the police and is considering further legal action. COS and H&M have yet to comment on the incident.
