KidSuper returns to celebrate the work of 5 emerging designers with The People’s Runway The second edition of the project also featured a special performance by Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean

Colm Dillane, founder of the KidSuper brand and arts ambassador of Brooklyn, returned during this New York Fashion Week to support the rising stars of the Big Apple's renowned borough. He did so by launching the second edition of The People's Runway, a project that includes mentorship, a runway show, and a $5,000 grant awarded to five emerging designers, selected from those who submitted their work through this summer's open call.

@nayathegemini @KidSuper’s SS27 The People’s Runway with Brooklyn Borough President was impeccable! KidSuper highlighted 5 emerging designers, showcasing their work and I was blown away! Fashion should be inclusive, accessible, and for the people and brands like KidSuper just gets it! Presented this Saturday at Brooklyn Borough Hall Plaza, the show featured Kuai Li of the brand Quine Li, Lamin Rey Jaiteh of Rey Jaiteh, Laurel Tiange Fang of Laurel Blue, Moses Aina of the brand Igbo-Sisun, and Roderick Reyes. All Brooklyn natives, the young talents not only had the opportunity to present their work on the official Fashion Week calendar, but also to be mentored by Colm Dillane and other fashion industry professionals throughout their preparation for the event.

The five designers each sent five looks down the runway, before Colm Dillane closed the show presenting four KidSuper looks. Rounding out the evening was a surprise performance by Lauryn Hill, who took the stage alongside Wyclef Jean, also a member of the Fugees, to mark the thirtieth anniversary of the iconic album The Score.

With The People's Runway, Colm Dillane continues to champion his vision of democratic fashion that, beyond offering visibility, supports young talent through concrete tools. Just days after the launch of his collaboration with Havaianas and the FW26 campaign Outside the Box, starring Vincent Cassel, Dillane's work once again proves that a great brand, today, must not forget its roots in order to achieve international success.
