KIWI Vapor has launched a scholarship in collaboration with IED Here's what went down at last night's presentation
Last night, the halls of the IED Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan turned into a vibrant crossroads where youthful ambition met industrial audacity, in an evening that marked not only the presentation of a product but the launch of a design project that builds a tangible bridge between educational excellence and the global market: the scholarship created by KIWI Vapor and IED. At the center of the evening was the new KIWI Air, the latest innovation from the first Italian e-cigarette brand, the catalyst of an initiative aimed at capturing the future of design.
The goal of the scholarship, starting at the end of October, is clear and resonates as a challenge to young creatives: to design innovative accessories for KIWI Air that are at once accessible, serial, functional, and expressive. It’s about shaping objects that are not confined to luxury, but that can become everyday, democratic symbols of identity. Seriality and functionality are the solid ground, while expressiveness is the soul that turns design into the story of the person who wears it.
During the presentation evening, the vision of an industry that refuses to simply follow but chooses to support those who are «working today to shape what does not yet exist» was celebrated, as poetically expressed by Mattia Sparacino, founder and CEO of the young KIWI Vapor team. It is a rare openness, an injection of trust in fresh talent.
The students’ projects will not be reviewed by an anonymous committee but by a jury of excellence, made up of influential voices in the worlds of design and fashion: Daniele Calcaterra, renowned designer; the editorial team of nss magazine and Caffè Design; Cristina Ferrara, former IED student and direct witness of the value of education; and Jole Lombardini, Industry Engagement Manager at IED, who had already shared her vision during the official announcement on September 10 at Garage 21. These judges will be responsible for recognizing not only originality but also the consistency of the projects with the values of a brand that seeks to be both accessible and cutting-edge.
The partnership between KIWI Vapor and IED goes beyond a simple scholarship: it is a statement of intent. It reaffirms their shared commitment to invest in the new generations, offering them the concrete tools to transform creative flair into industrial innovation. This collaboration marks a step forward for the Italian ecosystem, where education and enterprise unite in a synergy destined to generate new opportunities and light the way for talents who, with audacity and imagination, are already envisioning the future.
