BENCHELLAL

Curated by Omoyemi Akerele, founder and CEO of Lagos Fashion Week, Threads of Impact brings together over 80 designers, including winners and finalists of the prestigious FTA Prize, along with guests from partner countries. The works on display explore the plurality of contemporary Arab fashion, with key themes such as Urban Contemporary for creatives blending streetwear and high fashion, Conscious Constructs focused on sustainability, and Sculpted Forms highlighting fashion as a sculptural expression. The goal is to show how personal and cultural narratives intertwine to shape a multifaceted vision of fashion, between tradition and experimentation.

Binding Love Rings Mukhi Sisters

Since its inception, FTA has transformed the MENA fashion scene, offering mentorship, visibility, and international connections to designers who now engage with major global industry players. Among those featured are Andrea Wazen, Mohamed Benchellal, Kazna Asker, the Mukhi Sisters, Ahmed Sabry and Daki Marouf, and Yasmin Mansour. Each of their creations tells both a personal and collective story: that of an Arab world reinterpreting its cultural heritage through the contemporary language of fashion.
