Gucci will show in its own archives in Florence for Resort 2026
The fashion crowd will return to where it all began
May 9th, 2025
For the upcoming Resort 2026 collection, Gucci symbolically returns to its roots by announcing that the next Cruise show will be held in Florence, at the legendary Maison’s Archive, located in the heart of the Oltrarno district inside Palazzo Settimanni. This choice represents not only an act rich in historical and cultural meaning but also a statement of intent for the future, reaffirming the brand’s deep connection to the city where it all began. Acquired by Gucci in 1953, Palazzo Settimanni is a symbolic site in the brand’s history: once a workshop and showroom, it is now home to the Gucci Archive, a space that conveys the Maison’s vision through architectural and creative storytelling. After careful restoration, the building has become a crossroads between heritage and innovation, housing iconic collections and serving as inspiration for future generations of designers. The choice of Florence is no coincidence. It was here that Guccio Gucci founded the brand in 1921, and this city is home to some of the most representative landmarks of the Gucci universe: Palazzo Gucci, Gucci Osteria, Gucci Garden, and key hubs such as Casellina and Gucci ArtLab. These are all elements that compose a map of Gucci’s identity, deeply rooted in the Tuscan territory.
On the occasion of the show, Gucci will strengthen its commitment to the city by actively contributing to cultural and social initiatives, including the Estate Fiorentina 2026 and a redevelopment project for the Parco delle Cascine, once again confirming its role not only as a leading fashion house but also as a promoter of culture and local development. For Stefano Cantino, CEO of the Maison, the return to Palazzo Settimanni represents a tribute to the roots and an expression of the will to carry forward a constantly evolving vision. The Archive is not just a container of memory but a living space where ideas intertwine and transform, generating new creative trajectories. According to the mayor of Florence, Sara Funaro, this show will also represent a homecoming for a brand that has never truly left its native city, continuing to contribute to its economy, culture, and identity. Florence, in fact, maintains an artisanal vocation that is reflected in its productive fabric and the quality of its craftsmanship.
