Jacquemus to show in Capri next season

After presenting the SS24 collection Les Sculputres at the exhibition center Fondazione Maeght, Simone Porte Jacquemus decides to temporarily leave his beloved Provence. The next fashion show curated by the influencer-designer will be hosted in Capri, a location fully in line with the evocative scenarios that have recently served as the backdrop for the brand's designs. It will be a celebratory runway marking the first fifteen years of Jacquemus' history and will take place on June 10, 2024, at one of the most famous and appreciated buildings by cinema and fashion, Casa Malaparte. The choice of location is not at all random: it should be a tribute to the film Contempt by Jean-Luc Godard, a film set precisely in the house designed by architect Adalberto Libera. But the house also has a very strong connection with fashion, which is why Simone Porte deemed it perfect for this type of event.

Over the years, the location has been the setting for numerous fashion advertising campaigns: in 2015, Louis Vuitton chose this place to unveil its high jewelry collection, while in 2018 Yves Saint Laurent decided to shoot its fashion film with the famous supermodel Kate Moss. In 2019, the location was selected to promote the maison's perfume, starring actress Emma Stone. Even Karl Lagerfeld established a strong connection with the building over time. In 1997, he spent five days at Casa Malaparte, immortalizing every corner of the site: the photos were published in the magazine Steidl, and in 2023 it was Jacquemus himself who used them, printing and embellishing the jacket worn by Bad Bunny at the last Met Gala. The commemorative runway celebrating Jacquemus' fifteen years should not include a wide selection of garments: it will likely be a reduced selection of outfits, with the aim of immersing the usual extensive lineup of celebrities and brand stakeholders in the magical atmosphere of the location.
