The Manifattura Tabacchi in Florence yesterday witnessed the convergence of creativity and tradition in SHOW ME Italy 2023, where LVMH Métiers d'Excellence inaugurated its new office for Italy. The event showcased the solid commitments of LVMH, its brands, partner schools and associations in safeguarding savoir-faire and ensuring the intergenerational transmission of specialized crafts. This edition of SHOW ME Italy, reinforced LVMH's commitment to nurturing young talent and preserving craft expertise in Italy. One of the significant announcements at SHOW ME Italy concerns LVMH's plan to recruit more than 2,500 young artisans in savoir-faire professions in Italy by the end of 2025. «We were pioneers in the recognition of skilled trades with the creation of the Métiers d’Excellence Institute nearly 10 years ago. Today, our Métiers d’Excellence programs make us one of the world’s leading know-how transmission ecosystems. [...] We expect to recruit over 2, 500 people in savoir-faire professions in Italy over the next two years and we are delighted that more than 400 new apprentices will be trained by the Italian Métiers d’Excellence Institute this year», said Chantal Gaemperle, LVMH executive vice president for human resources and synergies.

With more than 1,500 middle school students participating in the "Excellent!" program and the "You and ME" tour that stopped in Florence, Novara and Padua, more than 3,000 visitors had the opportunity to explore the world of Métiers d'Excellence. The academic year 2023-2024 marks a historic milestone with a record 422 new Métiers d'Excellence apprentices in Italy. Indeed, the program has achieved tremendous results since its founding: according to data provided by LVMH, there are 7,000 people practicing Métiers d'Excellence at LVMH in Italy, to which will be added the 2,500 positions to be filled over the next two years announced by Gaemperle. In the past school year, the results were impressive: 98 percent graduated, 74 percent earned a "Certificate of Excellence," and 71 percent are working in their field of training, many within the LVMH Maisons and their partner ecosystem. The ME Institute currently offers 26 different training programs, including 17 tailor-made programs, in collaboration with 16 partners from the LVMH Maisons and 23 school partners. For this year, the ME Institute will introduce 12 new training programs, including collaborations with Belmond Academy, Chaumet, Bulgari, Fendi, Rossimoda, and Louis Vuitton, and four partnerships with Altagamma for the "Adopt a School" project that aim to bring high school students closer to the craft professions.
