Is Virgil Abloh's Pyrex Vision about to return? Tremaine Emory teased a new collaboration that could resurrect the brand

Pyrex Vision was, along with Been Trill, Virgil Abloh's very first experiment - the first especially to take advantage of the American designer's famous "3 percent rule" that took Ralph Lauren's rugby flannel shirts and printed them with his own graphics, selling them with a mark-up that, according to Complex, was around 700 percent of the original price. The line was shut down when Abloh founded Off-White, but the memory of Pyrex still survives in the streetwear world today. And that's why Tremaine Emory, creative director of Supreme as well as founder of Denim Tears, wanted to collaborate with the defunct brand by bringing back the famous shirts that will now feature the Pyrex Tears graphic and the number 45 instead of 23.

The number change is a nod to Michael Jordan, who changed his own jersey number to 45 when he returned to the NBA in '95, and will include, in addition to the flannel shirt, hoodies and t-shirts decorated with Caravaggio's famous reproduction of The Resurrection. It is not yet clear, however, whether this collaboration whose release has not yet been set will be able to bring the ancient brand back to life or not - there will certainly be a not-so-simple rights and copyright issue to settle for anyone who wants to reboot the Pyrex phenomenon. If anyone can do it, it is surely Tremaine Emory.
