Sotheby's, New York is entering the world of sneakers for the first time and, thanks to a collaboration with the retailer Stadium Goods, will auction some of the rarest and most desired models ever produced. The news has already sent into raptures all the most fervent sneakerheads, ready to empty their bank accounts to grab the most sought after silhouette to add to their collection. But what models are available? Noah Wunsch, Global Head of eCommerce at Sotheby's, said the Stadium Goods: The ultimate sneaker collection online project includes:

From the Paris Nike SB Low Dunks featuring designs by Bernard Buffet to the Nike Moon Shoe originally hand made by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman, the sale offers a range of rare, highly-coveted collectible sneakers bringing together art, culture and fashion. This sale marks another step in our continued expansion of our online offerings of highly-coveted and exceptional luxury goods, in which we present the best examples across a myriad of categories to passionate collecting communities worldwide.

As stated, the most valuable item is undoubtedly a pair of handcrafted Nike "Moon Shoes" designed by company co-founder Bill Bowerman. This shoe was created for the 1972 Olympics qualifications and this is one of the 12 pairs made and the only one ever wore. For this reason, its value is estimated at between $110k and $160k dollars.

Other very sought-after sneakers are the Nike Mag, available in two different versions: the "Nike Mag" of 2011 is worth between $13k and $18k dollars, and the "Nike Mag" of 2016, produced in only 89 pairs, which is self-lacing and has an estimated value between $50k and $70k dollars.

The list of the "objects of desire" continues with a couple of Air Jordan 1s from 1994, one of adidas NMDs made by Pharrell for Chanel, a couple of Travis Scott x Air Jordan 4 "Friends and Family", the Nike Air Force 1s produced to promote Jay-Z's 2003 album The Blueprint 2, the Eminem x Carhartt x Air Jordan 4, the Air Jordan 11 Jeters created for baseball player Derek Jeter, but also Off-White x Air Jordan 1 by Virgil Abloh.
