"Sounds of Design" at Milan Design Week 2026 The temporary listening room in the heart of Brera

Sounds of Design is an immersive installation that explores the relationship between sound, space and matter. Hosted inside a gallery in a historic Milanese building, once dedicated to music production and publishing, the project reactivates the memory of the place through a contemporary gaze. What once was a space for composing and imagining sound now becomes the starting point for a new sensory experience.
Curated by Golden Side, with the cultural partnership of Level Shoes, Sounds of Design brings together a selection of twelve designers and brands whose work investigates materiality, form and perception. Each contribution is part of a broader spatial composition, where objects, textures and structures enter into dialogue with a specially constructed soundscape.
For this occasion, the artist Neuf Voix, a composer and sound artist whose practice spans electronic and instrumental composition, live performance, and research into multichannel spatialisation, develops the exhibition’s sound design, treating sound as a structural material of the experience. In this context, he also presents a series of compositions that intertwine sounds derived from the production processes of the exhibited objects with musical elements, alongside hi-fi speakers and a custom console designed as both sculptural and functional devices. The tracks are activated at specific moments throughout the day, shaping an immersive experience in continuous relation with the installation. Alongside this, the daily music selection is curated by DJ Antenna Paradisco, contributing to the overall sonic atmosphere of the space.
The cultural partnership with Level Shoes, a key reference in the contemporary fashion landscape, opens a dialogue between design, fashion and material experimentation, expanding the project into a broader cultural dimension. Through this convergence of disciplines, Sounds of Design proposes a new way of engaging with design: not only to be seen, but to be heard and experienced.
