Gomorrah in 5 looks - Spoiler Alert

Tonight begins the 4th season of the most real series ever produced in Italy

Gomorrah in 5 looks - Spoiler Alert Tonight begins the 4th season of the most real series ever produced in Italy

Without fear of denial, I say that Gomorrah La Serie is the best TV series ever produced in Italy and the reasons are many. One above all is realism. Gomorrah borders on the documentary for describing reality, for how it characterizes its characters, for how it interprets situations that for 3 seasons have literally kept us glued to the screen.

Tonight Sky Uno will broadcast the first episode of the fourth season and we can't wait to discover what we'll happen. What we know for sure is that it will be great. For the occasion, we've decided to analyse the aesthetic of Gomorrah through 10 outfits of the main characters.

1. Don Pietro Savastano

"This jacket isn't mine as Don Pietro", this is how the song by Lazza feat Salmo & Nitro MOB begins. This sentence has always impressed me because it is a reference to the excuse that Don Pietro Savastano uses when he gets pulled over and arrested by police, while he's running to the hospital to check on his son Genny, and he gets caught with a bag of drugs in his pocket.
Don Pietro is the boss, the leader of Savastano clan by birth right. His outfits look simple but they're very specific: he wears very often a shirt, with a blazer, sweater or jacket. He wears suits, long coats and he fancies a scarf. Don Pietro is the symbol of power and expresses it through a clean style, elegant but not too much, a bit more than all the other characters, as it is right. The only time we ever see him with a tracksuit, which on the other hand is the go-to outfit for all the other characters, is when he gets freed while he's transferred by correctors officers to another prison. For the rest, Boss Don Pietro Savastano is always impeccable in his normal elegance.

2. Genny Savastano

Here things get a bit more complicated. In four years Genny has changed a lot: his outfits reflect his growth, his matureness as a man and as the son of Don Pietro. In the first two seasons, Genny is the spoiled kid who's not very able to lead, his outfits are very often colourful, almost in contrast with the general aesthetic of the places and of the other characters. Things change after his travel to Honduras: the hairstyle gets definitely more aggressive with a Mohawk haircut, his attitude is also more mature, of a man that has seen too many things. Also his look changes, black nuances take over, leather pants and black jeans are his must-haves as well as long T-shirts, hoodies and leather jackets. It's the final change of a character that is reflected also in his looks. In the third season, we start spotting him with suits and shirts that remind of his father, now Genny is a businessman, he's in charge of the business of the Savastano clan.

3. Immacolata Imma Savastano/Patrizia Santoro

The two most powerful women of the series. Imma was the wife, friend, lover and advisor in the most flourishing moment for the Savastano clan, she was fundamental support for Don Pietro who was madly in love with her. Donna Imma is the symbol of an unparalleled strength and confidence until she gets murdered in an ambush.

Patrizia, on the other hand, has had a fast and sudden growth. We're not talking about her personality, that has always been very strong, but about her looks. In the beginning, she works as a sales assistant in a fashion shop while she does some favours for her uncle (Malammore), basically taking his messages to Don Pietro who's hidden in a secret apartment after the riot against the clan. Simple dresses from fast fashion chains worn for need, not a choice. Soft-nuanced sweaters and T-shirts, worn-out jeans and waist bags. When Don Pietro falls in love with her things change, though. When she becomes the shadow of the boss, Patrizia keeps the same strong and bold attitude that conquered the heart of the boss, but her looks change dramatically: leather jackets that turn into satin blouses and suits that reflect the change in Patrizia's life.

4. Enzo Villa aka Sangueblù

This is a character we became familiar with last season, but he's already become very important. Descendant from one of the most powerful and prominent families of Naples, Sangueblù is definitely a hipster. Long and thick beard, tattoos, oversized T-shirts, his looks never change and reflect another side of Naples, the centre part of the city, more up to date when it comes to fashion trends, who doesn't mind streetwear. Black tones, oversized T-shirts, skinny pants and long hoodies make Sangueblù a highly recognisable character.

5. E guaglion ro vic

The kids of the street are the real workers of the clan, they do the dirty work and they represent the street. Flamboyant T-shirts with huge prints and graphics, big necklaces and jackets kept open. E guaglion ro vic remain tru to themselves and their roots, they are the place where they come from and they're proud of it. They represent at best the aesthetic of Gomorrah.
